“I sided with a girl against an entire nation that wants her dead. I allowed so many people to come to harm so that she would be okay. I watched Brom fall, children be twisted by a sick, depraved being. I was chased by a madman halfway across Sommerland. And now, with my own life in the balance, I must choose once more.” 🌟
I spent a long time in Photoshop last night, trying to gather cover ideas for Fires. Embers was a simple story about a girl trying to bring her mother's ashes to a sacred D'aille reserve, and the unlikely friendship between her and two twin siblings from the razed Jem Island; so I did my usual minimalist thing with the cover.
In contrast, Fires is a full-on war novel. I have legit never attempted a conflict of this scale, so I wanted to make it stand out from my past covers. There are three to four major battles throughout, divisions between its protagonists, a civil conflict and a city leader in open worship of the Mad God Lucillen.
Two versions will release- a limited time duology including Embers (with a different cover, of course 😁) and Fires itself. The third and final installment, Rise of the Mad God, will release at the end of 2020.
