Lately I’ve been working very very hard on Diva Doll Fitness and working with a handful of clients. I’ve also been able to plan out a few more trips for the rest of the year ✈️. It feels good being able to do what I love 💕 and helping others with their own fitness journey.

The last time I got to enjoy a summer was 4 years ago! Since 2016 I have pretty much been in prep during the summer. This year I decided that I was going to make sure I got to enjoy summer 2019! It’s only been a week in a few days since the last show and I must say I am feeling amazing. • Currently I’m still not tracking my meals. I’ve been eating healthy about 8020. Tonight was a five mile walk/run. It was so beautiful outdoors this evening after the rain. It was the calm after the storm that definitely was needed after today. I sure appreciate it if y’all could send all the good vibes to me. Say a prayer for my unspoken as well. We could really use it. I’m noticing my body is getting better at running outside. Which is HUGE for me because we live in Colorado as most of you all know the altitude here is rough. I listened to the @joerogan podcast the other day and he had a strongman athlete on talking about the dangers of deadlifting and how people should stay away from the lift - his examples all stemmed from how he injured his back deadlifting a car...an actual car.
• Deadlifting is surely for everyone. The value of the lift is not dictated by the weight, but by the execution of the mechanics and it is a skill that you should be able to execute. I say that based on the correlation I’ve found with a complete inability to hinge through the hips under load and high levels of back pain in our clinic. • Deadlifting goes wrong when ego gets in the way or progression occurs too quickly with a poor foundation of movement.
• One of the keys to staying healthy in these kinds of lifts is to make them self-limiting. Here I’m using a double overhand grip with no hook grip and no chalk. Naturally, you can’t lift as much as if you were using a mixed grip, wrist wraps, weight belt, etc. but the objective is to stay healthy, maintain healthy mechanics, and also gain strength.

Some accessory work from today... Had an AMRAP set on pullups after 55 reps total, ended up with 15 reps! Needless to say, I'm pretty happy with how well my recovery has gone since tearing my lat tendon. I probably shouldn't be doing as good as I'm doing, this fast. Thank you to @nshan87 and @coachray96 for all the body work over the past few months. I can honestly say my thoracic/pec/lat mobility is better than its ever been. A big change that I have been including in my workouts recently is super setting! It has honestly changed my whole workout routine. Complete each exercise in the set one after the other with no tests in between, after you have completed the set once rest for 1 minute then repeat two more times. Give each set your all has you have plenty of rest time to recover!! I also finished the workout with a quick Ab blaster, which will be uploaded in a few days so keep an eye out!! Please just remember that I am not a personal trainer, my form may be off and also I am only just beginning weight lifting so I can’t lift as much as some people as I really struggle to put weight on in my arms!!Super set 1 x3 🍑

Tempo squats a beneficial in that they can help activate that stabilization muscles for a longer period of time as compared to a regular squat. It can also help show any imbalances that may be hidden when the movement is done at regular speed👀

Single leg DB RDL is a great way to help activate the hamstrings and glutes. It works on glute stability as well as core stability so it is important to keep your core tight at all times to help with balance throughout the movement💥 it is also key to think of pushing you hips back as far as you can instead of how low the dumbbell goes🧠
