A contemporary version of the traditional Korean hanbok from my family. A lot of my taste in fashion is heavily influenced by my growing up overseas. When I moved to the states, it was important to my relatives to not forget my culture. It's something I often pay tribute to in my style or personal designs, although I think it is, understandably, misunderstood by my American peers and family as it conflicts with their own ideas on current fashion. That said, I'm so excited that some of my family from Korea will be visiting the United States for the very first time, and I look forward to sharing with them the culture and fashion from this part of my heritage and how I fused it with the other!
