Esenciales que siempre van conmigo 👜👌🏻 ¡Que tengáis muy feliz semana! ✨
Hello Monday! (*^▽^*) I’m taking it super easy this week so I’ll be able to post more photos because I’m staying at my hometown a little longer than usual.
Okay let me introduce you to this beautiful gem I got from Kinokuniya last Saturday.
This manga title is テンシュの国 / Blissful Land by Ichimon Izumi
I was mesmerised by the beautiful art, when I had this manga in my hands I told myself that I must read this. Thanks @phaser_razor for letting me using your card for discounts for the manga!
It took me hours flipping through the pages, the art was very beautiful I had to appreciate the details of Ichimon Sensei 😍
The story revolves around カン•シバ / Kan Shiba who dreams of becoming a doctor in a small village in Tibet of the 18th century. The story is a mixture of slice of life and cultural background. So what makes this manga so special is that you’ll get to learn more of the Tibetan culture 😆💕 The story doesn’t directly centres on their culture but the story plot is something that intrigues me the most! 🙈💕 I can’t say more about this manga, it’s something I fall in love with and I hope to see more of cool manga titles like this in the future. I will buy the rest of the volumes but for now I’m going to satisfy myself with this volume ☺️ Have a great day ahead!
On top of the world 🌍
Thank you everyone for the amazing comments, very much appreciated 😀
Truly a remarkable year already 🏆
It’s long been a dream to race at the Le Mans 24 hour, I’m one step closer 🇫🇷 Bring on the test day in June 🏎
This one is all about the importance of learning and education, and the places it can take you.
Educated is a memoir of Tara Westover, the youngest of seven, who grows up in a very conservative, Mormon fundamentalist family, spends most of her childhood and adolescence doing rough, often dangerous scrap metal work for her father, never to recieve one letter of formal education.
It didn't help that her father had them convinced the world was going to end very soon, attending school and college was akin to joining the illuminati, and that her brother was an undiagnosed psychotic patient who frequently subjected her to his wrathful fits, even going so far as to call her a whore for trivialities like speaking to a local boy.
Fast forward she joins college against her father's wishes, struggles initially both academically and socially, but then like a resolute bird pecking at wood, she carves out a niche for herself, eventually to earn her a PhD from Cambridge.
The picture is not all springs and flowery though. There are elements of abuse and neglect. For me the hurtful past was where Westover becomes a pariah in her own house. .
. "You can love someone and still choose to say goodbye to them,” she says now. .
“You can miss a person every day, and still be glad that they are no longer in your life."
Likeable feature: With so many movies & memoirs emphasising on the limitations of academic persuits or the futility of it, I am glad this one speaks of education as the old fashioned sure footed ladder to success. (⭐⭐⭐🌠/5)
