Full disclosure! I don't train legs very hard as I have a postural issue that needs to be fixed. But, when I was younger I was squatting 180kg and deadlifting 260kg.

Now! As always I will go into some anatomy and function if the muscles and then talk about growing them. I will just cover the basic muscle groups and not the minor ones.

First up we have the quadriceps femoris aka the quads: They are a group of muscles located in the front of the thigh. Tvastus lateralis, vastus medialis, vastus intermedius, and the rectus femoris. These muscles work together to flex the knee. The best exercises to grow these muscles are different forms of lunges (Bulgarian, reverse, normal), squats (front, normal, goblet) and machines (leg press, leg extension). The hamstrings are the group of muscle in the back of your legs. They are the biceps femoris, semitendinosus, and semimembranosus. These muscles extend the thigh backward. The best exercises for hamstrings are: Romanian deadlift, single leg deadlift, swiss ball leg curl and machine leg curl.

Compound movements are the most ideal for muscle growth,  however they are the most riskiest. So, if you do not have perfect from. Then practice with light weights or stay on machines.

Legs can be a mix or slow twitch and fast twitch so I recommend doing splits with lower reps and then splits with higher. So, you cover all the bases.

P.s I missed out glutes because I cannot fit them in due to post length. I will cover them at some point!

This has only happened in the last year, and I hate it, I’m so self conscious of it. But I too need to learn to love the skin I’m in. And I’m slowly getting there. But I’m also not going to let nature win this one entirely, look at those abs baby 👀👀!! Haha I can thank consistency in the gym, getting my nutrition right with the Herbalife program, and my favourite Herbalife Rebuild post workout protein shake for that 🙏😝

This picture was from Sunday but I’ve been slacking big time this week! Have Ayvas first birthday (& party) on Saturday so with getting ready for that plus house shopping my nights have been swamped! Excited to get back into routine next week 😅 Plus I have been one exhausted momma!! I have been falling asleep 8-830 most nights this week after having a busy work day and busy night! Phew!

It's been almost a month since my wreck and I'm still not cleared for lifting anything upper body. Walking more than a half mile pisses my back off. But today, I did 30 min on the bike and 30 min of leg machines. It felt good, but to be honest, I'm still fighting my own stubbornness in taking this VERY slow hate - I using such low weights (because in my mind, I'm still WAY stronger). I've lost muscle and gained fat and I realize how long it will take me to get back. But, like everything, it's a process and I'll get back. For now, I'll wear clothes that are slightly bigger but I'll keep at the routine. It's a phase and it will pass.

I've lost muscle and gained fat and I realize how long it will take me to get back. But, like everything, it's a process and I'll get back. For now, I'll wear clothes that are slightly bigger but I'll keep at the routine. It's a phase and it will pass.
