❤SONG OF GOD (Day 12)❤
The Gita has been called 'Srimad' because it is supreme and it has 'Bhagavad' because it was told by Lord Krishna who possesses 6 bhagas (wealth, knowledge, glory, greatness, virtue and dispassion). The term 'Gita' is used because it was sung by Lord himself.
Mahabharata contains 18 parvas and in Bhishma parva (13-42) there is mention of Shrimadbhagavadgita. Gita is a dialogue between Arjuna and Shree Krishna and this was said to clarify Arjuna's dilemma and uplift Dharma.
Gita has a total of 700 slokas and is divided into 18 chapters which are-
Arjunavisada yoga, Sankhya yoga, Karma yoga, Jnanakarmasanyasa yoga, Sanyasa yoga, Dhyana yoga, Jnanavijnana yoga, Aksaraparabrahma yoga, Rajavidya rajaguhya yoga, Vibhuti yoga, Visvarupadarshana yoga, Bhakti yoga, Ksetraksetrajnanavibhaga yoga, Gunatraya vibhaga yoga, purusottama yoga, Daivasurasampadvibhaga yoga, Sraddhatrayavibhaga yoga and Mokshasanyasa yoga.
Gita is the way of life. It was here that Shree Krishna showed his Vishvarupa form. Want to see this form of Bhagawan? To be continued...
