My mom said something like, “Wow! You’re working the whole day!” And I said, “Yes. Because this is my job.” 😂
The “whole day” was 8-4 with breakfast and a lunch break in there. And the “work” that I was doing was this:
I sent messages on Facebook to the people who are in my online accountability group to get their ideas on how we can make the group better so THEY can meet their goals.
With some we talked about how they’ve fallen off their plan and need to get on.
With some they shared what’s working and we just celebrated together!
With some they shared some personal stuff that’s going on.
With some I invited them to pay for the workout plans others in the group are using to help them get better results.
I talked to friends all day! And that’s my work.
Oh, also I took selfies and adjusted the lighting so they’d look pretty. I also consider that “working.”
I did my own workout and took video of it and I include that as part of my work.
Later that night after dinner with my family and taking the kids to the beach, I spent time getting irritated by trying to find a Instagram planning app so I can better plan out my posts and be a little more professional. I couldn’t figure it out. I’m not super technologically savvy so I’ll have to keep working on that. I watched an episode of Star Trek with my parents. (Everything in the future will be shiny. FYI.) Just before bed I saw an email from a friend who wanted to order Shakeology from me, so I quickly sent that order through and then I went to bed.
It might surprise my mom that I stay focused on my work even when I’m visiting, but this is a job I actually WANT to show up to.
When you get that customer who is elated because they’re feeling stronger, it makes all of the effort completely worth it!
I love this job. If you’d like to run a business that helps people, can we talk? I’d love to partner with you so we can spread the love further together!
