Where I volunteer 2x a week -- the Beacon Hill Park Children's Farm.
It began as a zoo in 1889 with a bear, deer, eagle, etc..even a seal ! ⬅ def. would not be acceptable today ! It became a children's petting zoo in 1973 when I was 6. My first visit was 1970, age 3. The only animals I recall are a lovely park workhorse named Queenie, she passed away age 20 in Nov. of same year, and the enclosed deer. Since 1985 it has been operated by the Koender family.
This is the daily goat run, a quick fun ' event ' for all ages. And those are Jacob sheep with their humorous ' burp-like ' voices, and alpacas too. It's that time of day when dinner is waiting, the animals start letting you know. You can also hear peacocks calling away which go on all day.
If you're in need of some goat cuddling, this is a great place to visit !
I hope you have a good laugh at the last wee goat 😂 " Wait for me ! WAIT FOR MEEE !! Wait ! Wait ! Wait ! " 💞
