HOW WE GOT TO CAIRO.
Cairo. The capital of Egypt and largest and most populated city in the country (and in all Africa). We traveled in many places and usually when you visit such a big and old city, especially country's capital, you expect to see a lot of beautiful architecture, nice streets, people in suites hurrying for some business, parents walking with kids in parks. Usually it's like this, but not in Cairo... If I could describe Cairo with one word, it will be the word "chaos". Cairo and touristic Sharm el Sheikh that we saw before as different from each other as black and white, winter and summer, shark from elephant. It was totally different world, it was real Egypt as it is... Pre-history.
I don't know if many of you know about Couchsurfing - this is a social media service that allows travelers from all over the world to meet with local people in the country that they visit. Sometimes people just meet to walk around, show some interesting places of their city, to drink coffee and to stay for overnight with local family. And we use this service sometimes when we travel as well as we sometimes accept travelers who come to our city. So before our trip to Egypt, I made a trip in Couchsurfing and mentioned cities that we were going to visit. To be honest, I was really surprised with hospitality of Egyptian people, many people sent messages to greet us, offered to meet for coffee or walk around, and one guy invited us to stay with his family in Cairo and we accepted this offer. It's always interesting to stay with locals and see how people live, what they eat, what they do, etc. So we sat in the bus in Sharm el Sheikh and moved to Cairo. At 4 a.m. I got a message from the host who confirmed our stay that he can't accept us... It's first time I have such an experience in Couchsurfing, and that was not a good surprise because we didn't have any booked hotel and internet on the way was really bad... so we decided to arrive in the bus station in Cairo, book hotel and go there.
