Words cannot begin to describe my gratitude and joy for getting to see my niece @alyrdk , my nephew @d_radke3.0 and my sis-in-law @ranradke , and especially for the chance to see Alyssa kick some major ass in her volleyball tournament. This girl just turned 16 and has college recruiters talking to her. Swipe to see some pics of her being a total baller (plus one of Ft. Lauderdale at sunrise this morning). .
“One of the biggest lessons I learned from this trip [to Italy] was how important it is to embrace moments that help you grow, even if they make you feel a little nervous or uncomfortable at the time…There were a lot of amazing new things that I experienced that helped me grow so much in volleyball but also spiritually and in life in general.” -Kennedy Eschenberg #ncaavb#ncaa#volleyball@usavolleyball#usavolleyball#usa (via @byuwvolleyball)
I don't think I have ever done a post like this! Most of the time they are my crazy goofy self, which is 100% who I am but since my amputation there has definitely been crazy difficult times! (Which is completely normal) losing a limb or any life altering event is hard for any one. For me losing my leg was the easy part, but the process after was the difficult side. While most of my expectations were realistic I had some that were very far fetch. I knew I'd have my "robot leg" the rest of my life but I didn't know learning to walk would be a challenge. I knew my body would change drastically but I didn't know finding cloths that fit just right would be a million times harder. I knew that people would stare but I didn't know they would be so rude while doing it. This list could go on for day but my point to my post is...
I took this photo the other day because I got this cute skort and was super pumped to wear it! I thought the photo was cute and fun but then I looked deeper. I zoomed in on Leni (my little leg) and for the first time EVER thought,
"WOW THAT LOOKS BADASS!"
