- If you want to go forwards you have to push the water behind you (front to back) - Body rotation opens up (left and right) so you can drive the arm through.

What are the benefits of a long run?
Heart gets stronger

Teach the body to use fat as a fuel source rather than glycogen
Gives you confidence and strengthens your mind.

How far should the long run be?
Long runs should be between 20-30% of your total weekly mileage.
E.g If you run 50km per week. The long run should be 10-15km.

What pace should you go?
Pace should be conversational. 
1 minute to 1min 30 per km slower than your 10km race pace.
E.g If you run 20 minutes for 5km (4 mins per km). Try running your long run at no faster than  5mins per km, but running at 5:30/km could  be even better.

New teammember! In the upcoming season the 26 years old @joep.tri will take part in our team and coaching program in order to develop his potential and qualify for #kona 
As a youngster Joep started his sporting carreer as a football player for almost 10 years. In 2016 he watched the first @ironmanmaastricht in his hometown and that was the moment he decided to start training for this race and developed(in small steps) a more disciplined lifestyle in order to become stronger and faster. In 2017 he started training @larskarmelk and this resulted in several strong races this year finishing 18th place at the dutch championship half distance in Klazienaveen and his first win @triathlonwijchen

40 swimmers from nine different triathlon / running clubs! That’s a lot of 1-1 sessions.

Another busy week of swim coaching ahead. Five one to one swim sessions and three group swim sessions booked in so far.

Since the start of September, so 6 or 7 weeks, I’ve met up with 40 different swimmers for 1-1 swim sessions. These swimmers range from high level triathletes and open water swimmers looking to fine tune their technique, to swimmers looking to start swimming and are currently struggling to swim more than 1 length - and everyone in between!

There have been a mix of athletes from a range of local clubs and triathlon coaching programmes too, including Live Train Race, MerseyTri, St Helens Tri, Total Tri Training, Total Transition Triathlon, Penny Lane Striders, Knowsley Harriers, Dockside Runners. 
This week is no different and sees athletes from St Helens Tri, MerseyTri, Total Tri Training and Warrington Warriors all booked in for 1-1 swim sessions.

If you think you would like to improve your swim, want some coaching from an experienced swim coach and would like a 1-1 session, please get in touch.

40 swimmers from nine different triathlon / running clubs! That’s a lot of 1-1 sessions.

Another busy week of swim coaching ahead. Five one to one swim sessions and three group swim sessions booked in so far.

Since the start of September, so 6 or 7 weeks, I’ve met up with 40 different swimmers for 1-1 swim sessions. These swimmers range from high level triathletes and open water swimmers looking to fine tune their technique, to swimmers looking to start swimming and are currently struggling to swim more than 1 length - and everyone in between!

There have been a mix of athletes from a range of local clubs and triathlon coaching programmes too, including Live Train Race, MerseyTri, St Helens Tri, Total Tri Training, Total Transition Triathlon, Penny Lane Striders, Knowsley Harriers, Dockside Runners. 
This week is no different and sees athletes from St Helens Tri, MerseyTri, Total Tri Training and Warrington Warriors all booked in for 1-1 swim sessions.

Mi perdoneranno tutti gli altri miei atleti che hanno gareggiato oggi, ma oggi giornata particolare con il primo podio assoluto di triathlon in campo femminile.
@serenaperin78 chiude terza al Triathlon Sprint Città di Tirrenia, arrivando al debutto nel triathlon dopo neanche due mesi di allenamento e davvero poche settimane di allenamento (più) specifico, dopo un infortunio e problemi fisici.

Alright triathletes, the time has come for some #runtips to get you finishing faster than ever in 2020!
1️⃣ First have a coach or experienced runner look at your form. You want the extra miles with the right technique
2️⃣ Get strong! Focus on glutes, hamstrings, and core to help build speed and stay injury free
3️⃣ Mobility mobility mobility! This will help keep you injury free but also could help you get faster...better stride anyone?
4️⃣ Keep the cadence up - work on running at 90RPM’s or more to increase your run efficiency
5️⃣ Run often
6️⃣ keep the cycling training aerobic. Building run power and speed is tough if you’re riding hard at the same time
7️⃣ Focus on 4 main types of workouts to start: super easy recovery runs - HR Should be as low as possible while still running, interval runs - time to build speed but should be kept short and not all out, Max aerobic effort runs (highest HR you can hold while still being in an aerobic zone), long runs - the focus here should be to build volume. Keep these really easy to start while you build the mileage .

From the 50m efforts I could feel it getting stronger and was knocking a few seconds off each 50m from what I was doing only a few weeks ago - which is really encouraging ! Many thanks - Swim Squad works !!” .

Сегодня утром мы с семьёй Половко поехали в г.Запорожье за очередной медалью за полумарафон))🏅 Пробежали с @polovkoandrey четко по плану: первые 10 км бежали по 5 мин, вторую 10-ку по 4.50👌

Я был пейсмейкером Андрея, а с пейсмейкером, как известно, бежать легче. Спросите у Андрея или у Кипчоге))🙈

В этих же соревнованиях принимал участие новый член нашей команды Антон Голда💪 Это его первые соревнования! Задача была пробежать дистанцию на 10 км.по заданному пульсу. Антон слегка перевыполнил план по пульсу, но при этом показал хороший результат👍

А наша семейная пара спортсменов Лиля и Олег бежали вместе 10 км🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Олег был пейсмейкером у Лили, которая пробежала дистанцию за 1 час.

Ну а теперь перенесемся в Амстердам где сегодня состоялся марафон🌍
Наш спортсмен Сергей Петренко пробежал эти 42,195 км за 3.20.30, улучшив свой результат более чем на 10 мин., тем самым обновив свой личный рекорд!💪

Сейчас готовимся к следующим стартам в Германии,Турции, Греции, Италии🌴🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

A great sunny day for a long bike ride 🚴‍♂️ 😊. I tried to keep a steady pace to stay within the aerobic exercise zone. The week was hard enough and I feel each session in my legs, so today the goal was really just to enjoy the ride and the scenery 😃. Have a great rest of the day and the week 😎!
