This shot was one painful and scary climb, but totally worth it! So, this adventure started with me and my new friend @tbecker679
going on a photo walk together on one of the nature trail down the street from my place in Bloomington. We met up on the old cedar avenue bridge, and began chatting it up about how amazing the scenery looked in autumn. He even said he may bring his friends down there some time before the snow hits us for good. Now, my plan is to show him one of my personal favorite places for this trail and the photo you now see is on the way. Now then, we got side tracked about 47 seconds from crossing this bridge (photographers, amiright?). I found us a real huge leaf that reminded both of us of those photos with the leaf wrapped around the lens and it frames the scene really well, so we thought to give it a try! We failed hard... but it wasn’t our fault! It was the leaf, I swear! Anyways, after being attacked by countless swarms of nats in a failing attempt at a really cool idea, we headed to the 77 highway bridge of the Minnesota river. The view was fantastic! The trees had finally changed colors, the clouds were just right, and the water was nice and blue. I just had to get the shot. We headed onto the walkway from the trail to cross the bridge, but since there was a fence around it, I couldn’t just easily take a photo of this scene. Modern problems call for modern solutions. Since there was a fence in my way, I obviously climbed it! Now, it’s not as easy as it sounds. The fence curved at the top to prevent people from doing this probably, and there were a bunch of small spiders all over the fence too (spiders just freak me out on another level..). Although, I just had to get the shot, so I handed over my camera to ty after setting my settings to take photos one handed, and made sure I was in a good spot with no spiders. I got climbing and hung on with just one hand as I set my camera on the top of the fence and got this very shot! Afterwards my hands were imprinted since I was hanging on to a fence for like 2 minutes. Definitely worth it!
