The day before this, Dan (aka @dubdubdan)
and I were flying to Chiang Mai, #Thailand
from Manchester in the UK and something I ate on the long plane journey from Dubai to #Bangkok
wasn’t vegan and, holy f*ck, it did NOT sit right...
One second I was happily watching Bohemian Rhapsody, nearly crying from how good that movie is, and the next I was up and crawling over my airplane row mates, booking my a** to the bathroom...
Oh god. I didn’t make it. I crapped my pants while on an 8 hour flight. Literally.
And again after we landed while STANDING IN THE AIRPORT BATHROOM LINE.
And almost *almost!* again while on our 4-hour bus journey from Chiang Mai to #ChiangRai
! (Can I just say THANK GOD for Imodium? 🙏🏼🙌🏼)
This, my friends, is the realities of backpacking and traveling. Sure, the glorious photos of eating delicious Thai food, hiking the mountains of Vietnam, and strolling through the rice paddies of Bali are amazing, but there’s SO much more going on behind the scenes. (Side note: also got raging food poisoning in Bali and sh*t my pants there, too. 🥴)
But with that said, it’s worth it. Every diarrhea mishap, unfortunate scam, bad food incident, grueling bus ride, or travel-gone-wrong event is totally and completely worth it to see and experience every facet of what this world has to offer. 🌈🌏 Stay tuned for another story tomorrow!
