Washington DC has a reputation as food lover’s paradise, and it did not disappoint.
We managed to secure a spot at Founding Farmer’s, one of the most popular restaurants in DC. (At 8am, we overheard someone saying they had waited for 2 hours.) My sister and I like to share food so that we get to try more items.
Since we spent barely any money in DC (friend’s apartment + all memorials/museums we visited were free), we decided to splurge a little and order a ton of food.
We ended up with a hearty breakfast scramble, eggs benedict, and beignets.
This was my first time trying beignets, and it won’t be the last. Pastries are a weakness of mine, and this fluffy, sweet dessert originating from ancient Rome won my heart.
We were barely able to walk to the Smithsonian’s afterward.
