I just finished watching that horrific Tiger King series and it took a few attempts to get through it. Seeing animals in captivity always upsets me and in this show there's so, so much cruelty. The emphasis is on the redneck operetta so I can see why people find the show entertaining, but seeing these animals being bred for selfies, smuggled into casinos in suitcases, cross-bred into novelty mutations and living in imposssibly cramped conditions in the background is torture to watch. It just goes to show how much work has to be done to change the way people think about animals. I'm desperate to get back into the field so I can continue to see and share why it's so incredibly important to support these creatures in their wild environments. In the meantime, please enjoy the wild beauty of a tiger living free in her own environment - this is Umajhola from my last trip to Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh.
