Spent my lunch break like this 👆🏻 & it was a lovely little breather amidst a busy work day. ☺️🖤 •
Before I dig into my initial thoughts on my new read (GOOD GIRLS LIE by JT Ellison), I thought I should press pause and quickly give you guys my final thoughts on Simone St. James’ forthcoming release, THE SUN DOWN MOTEL 🕵🏻♀️ I’ll have a full review of this one up on my blog closer to the book’s release in early 2020 - but in the meantime, catch a little preview of my thoughts right here 👇🏻 and/or pop over to my website to read an exclusive excerpt from the book! 🤓 link in my bio!
THE SUN DOWN MOTEL is an excellent standalone suspense novel from an author with a true knack for developing rich, spine-tingling atmosphere and weaving together complex stories effortlessly. This book will hook readers with its instantly-intriguing plot - a story about a young woman moving to the small town where her aunt disappeared years prior in a hunt for the truth - but readers will find even more intrigue within its pages than they might originally imagine. THE SUN DOWN MOTEL tells the story of a small town with a dark history — a history of women disappearing. 😳 But the two women central to this story refuse to be victims, and both (in their own time period) set out to uncover the truth, and prevent anyone else from coming to harm. This book has strong female protagonists, spine-tingling chills, a haunted motel, a serial killer, and meticulously plotted dual narratives. 👌🏻 You have to be okay with some supernatural elements in your suspense in order to fully love this read (there are some ghosts 👻) BUT Simone St. James effortlessly blends these supernatural elements into the main mystery - they are NOT a distraction, more just another element of this book’s rich atmosphere. OH and one of the timelines in this story is in the 80’s, which is perfect for those of you who love a bit of a throwback vibe. 💯 All in all, I loved this one - I’m thinking it will be a 4.5/5 ⭐️ read for me!
I’m curious to learn a bit more about you guys! How many of you work in an office (like me😂), or have a 9-5 job? How many of you are students? Tell me more about yourself!!🖤
