"get busy living or get busy dying."
- the shawshank redemption directed by frank darabont
the shawshank redemption is another one of those movies that had such an important impact on my love for cinema, and it is one that actually started it in some ways. i remember a little less than two years ago on my last year of high school, my teacher showed it in one of my classes, and i loved it so much. i wasn’t as passionate about cinema as i am now back then, but this movie kind of showed me how truly important this form of art can be. the shawshank redemption is not only impressive and sensational because of it’s memorable and strong script, it’s interesting characters or it’s powerful scenes, it is also impressive because of how it’s public somehow connects with it on such a strong level, even if most of them has probably never been in the situation of the main characters. this shows how greatly directed it is, and it is also, to me, one of the greatest film ever made.
