This week I've been thinking about memories a lot. I drank some apple juice at breakfast, and was immediately transported to my childhood, in my Grandparents house in Tasmania. I could see the garden, feel the light and hear the birds there. But it's a specific type of apple juice that invokes it, not just any old apple juice. You can't even get that exact apple juice here in Scotland, but this was close enough. Later that day on I looked back at photos from a trip up the mountains in February. Straight away I was on top of Bidein a' Choire Sheasgaich looking across the tops, then running down a slope into a silent glen. It's the power of our senses to move us, whilst we cannot move. I'd planned to make a video every day of lockdown but realised I was spending too long on a screen every day. The wave of worry & despair came around, as it does every week or so. Like being in the sea, I just let it wash over me - realised I'm ok, still here and kept moving. Try and spend some time in your memories today, who knows where they'll take you?
I played about with a fake wet plate collodion look here. Want to know how to do something? Just Google it. You may have lots of time learn new skills. And to get a new haircut.
