I’ve been off line in Pecorini A Mare for the last 3 days enjoying the rugged beauty of Filicudi, one of eight islands that make up the Aeolian archipelago, situated 30–50 km northeast of the island of Sicily, southern Italy. It sounds exotic, but was somewhat of an endurance test! While I love a scenic walk to the beach, this one was next level [physically], along with rocks instead of sand, once we hit the beach. In Australia I’ve been dumped plenty of times by waves at surf beaches and ended up with sand in places it should not be. 🌊 At this beach I somehow managed to be wedged against a rock as I tried to make my way into the water. The boys eventually made it out further than me and even managed to discover caves with their Uncle who is an adventurer and much braver than me! My 10 year old niece joined them and we shared our leg scratches [Master 14 & Miss 10] and arm scratches [me] from our swim. 😱 Sending you sunshine and warmth.
