We all want to master something in life... work, relationships, health, spirituality, peace of mind, finances, creativity, happiness, etc. Yet, how often do we resist the process of learning?
Most of us put up a fight and complain internally when things are hard, when things aren't going our way. The thought crosses our mind that this is a learning experience, but how come we don't FEEL it?!
I'm fascinated by this concept because as kids we all were learning machines! We picked up new skills pretty quick and without much struggle compared to older people. Why? How? It's simple. One word:
We saw learning a new skill with a playful, curious attitude. When learning to walk, we fell down and got curious on why our legs didn't work the way we thought they would. We never got so frustrated that we refused to get up again!
Now compare that kind of learning to learning how to develop a strong, loving relationship or a fulfilling career that we're thriving in. Most adults get frustrated and angry if things don't go their way the first 10 times.
Let's take a lesson from children today and be willing to fail, mess up, and make mistakes. The beginner's mind is where the growth happens quickest! Who's with me? 🙋
