So I am kind of freaked out right now.
After I took the #honeybopcardigan
off the blocking mats and tried it on, it was HUGE! Like the puff sleeves hung down, the 3/4 sleeves became almost full length sleeves (I didn’t even pin down the sleeves) and it overall just did not fit. Sadly, I figured i made the wrong size and would need to knit this again because I love it so much!
BUT since I used SW wool, I decided to throw it in the dryer and see what happens. I mean, what’s the worst that could happen? To me, it was already ruined.
But to my surprise, it took its shape MUCH better, it fits around my arms much better and basically all around. My only concern now is, as I wear it, will it stretch back to the baggy cardigan it was once I took it off the mats?
I think the moral is this: when I look in the mirror, I see someone that is much bigger than she (me) really is. Yes, I took my bust measurements but I think the amount of negative ease I needed, would require me to go down a full size and I didn’t consider that.
The last picture shows how it would appear once the buttons are put on. But should I apply buttons? Or save buttons for making another one, down 1 size?
I’ll see how it wears throughout the day and make a better decision. But these pictures show just how much better it looks after throwing it in the dryer. This is how I imagined it would fit!
Thoughts, anyone? 💘
