Meal prep Sundays. With 2 young kids, I don’t have a lot of time to bake fancy meals, especially during the week. So keeping it simple is a must. On Sundays, I love to make a big batch of roasted veggies that I can pair with any main dish. 5 ingredients was all it took- assortment of veggies, olive oil, crushed black pepper, crushed Himalayan pink salt and fresh pressed garlic. Crockpot cooking is a staple of mine. Made a batch of meatballs that are 30 days to healthy living challenge approved. Substituted gluten free oats for the breadcrumbs for a healthier version. Used plain tomato sauce and added my own seasonings and the fresh pressed garlic. Now I’m ready for the week. 2 years ago he was in the best shape of his life when he unexpectedly started experiencing pain in his hip. Over time this pain got worse and required medical treatment. He went in for what we thought was a hip flexor strain and left with the news that he needed a DOUBLE hip replacement. 💔

He lived with chronic pain for months on end. His pain got worse day by day and he lost his ability to walk upright and put on his own shoes. He did all he could to stay active. He rarely complained despite the fact that merely walking was excruciating. He lost his ability to run, jump and sleep in peace. His hips would often lock up and cause him to scream in pain. 😭

Last October he had his first hip replacement surgery with the 2nd one right after in December. Today, with his double hip replacement surgeries behind him and with clearance from his doctor 😉, he walked into Orange Theory and CRUSHED his very first class. 💪🏼 It’s been a long road of suffering, healing and recovery but today, HE DID IT! 💯 Please join me in celebrating this warrior and his road to recovery 🙌🏼 #recovery #hipreplacement #hipreplacementrecovery #orangetheoryfitness #soinspired #roadtorecovery #fitnesstransformation

Today was a 𝐏𝐎𝗪𝐄𝐑-𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐃𝐀𝐘! I had 11 splat points before I even got on the treadmill. I don’t know who thought 1000m row followed by a 100 jumping jacks was a good idea. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ It didn’t even end there, but nevertheless I persisted. The floor had snatches, single arm hip swings, and the ab-dolly! I got up to 30 pound weights on both exercises. 💪🏾💪🏾 I’m coming for those Michelle Obama arms by summer. Mark my words!⁣

Today’s workout was in honor of Dr. Myra Adele Logan, the first woman to perform open heart surgery in the ninth operation of its kind in 1943. Dr. Logan’s research included studying antibiotics and breast cancer. Her notable contributions include developing more accurate tests to detect density differences in breast tissue. A surgeon at Harlem Hospital in New York, she was also a founding partner of the first physicians group practice in the United States. Fun fact: Dr. Logan was also an accomplished classical pianist.

Had quite the journey on my big dirty thirty today. I did 3 Orange Theory classes. I didn't do them to "be cool" or whatever. I did them to prove to myself that I can do anything. One for each decade I've been on this earth. It hasn't been easy. I know there were times not only me, but also my family wondered whether or not I'd be here for my 30th birthday. And here I am. 💪🙌😊🧡

What you can't see is me gasping for breath. 😂 Well I have zero idea how to properly work my Garmin but I had my Fitbit on too. Did 3.4 miles. I jogged briefly at the beginning but was in way too much pain so I stuck to walking. ダイエットをするにあたってより効果を高めるために必要なのが食事のコントロールだと思います👏 私はその日に食べた物を毎日ノートに書き食べすぎていないか?を確認していました。ですが予定していた量よりも食べたい…みんなからのお誘いが…という日もあります🤔

そんな日は…思いっきり食べちゃいます!

以前お伝えした中に1日で全てのカロリー収支を制御することが難しい日もあります。なのでカロリー収支を3日間で計算し、その前後でコントロールするよう心がけていました☘

好きなことは食べること、1番大好きな物ばかり制限すると心が疲れて小さな結果に繋がらないことにイライラ…なんてこともしばしばあります👏 ダイエットをするためにも息抜きはとても大切です!

Here is what Pearl had to say about her time with us! "I joined a year and a half ago and haven’t looked back. OT has coached me to do proper techniques and spur me on to keep challenging myself. I started coming a couple of times per week, then added a 3rd class per week and this January I added a fourth class. I have become stronger and more confident. I love all the coaches, the front line staff and of course, Ron & Shantelle. Plus I’m getting to know some awesome members. OT feels like my second home. I’ve been working out with some knee injuries that are improving over time. My doctor says I’m doing the right thing by rowing and biking. Now just some weight loss to lighten the load on my knees. So I joined the current Transformation Challenge and I am seeing and feeling the results.
I would highly recommend people to try OT for at least 3 months and see how great it is. Here’s to 300 classes!"

⚡️I got fed up of the gym. ⚡️I first started weightlifting as a freshman in high school back in 2007. I started on stationary machines. My dad made me go and bought me a membership to get stronger for the soccer season. As a result, I was head and shoulders above other high school girls in strength and speed. It gave me an edge and I became addicted to the success I was having. ⚡️I went to college and started Olympic lifting for college soccer. Even most of my college teammates hadn’t had experience with weightlifting and I had been doing it for years! It again gave me another slight edge. I put on 15 pounds of muscle. I was stronger, quicker, and more agile. I benched 135. I would squat 285. I loved being one of the strongest women out on the field. ⚡️After college I didn’t know what to do. I hadn’t had much experience doing other types of workouts. I had been doing weightlifting for so long I got burnt out on it. For four years I started and stopped routine because I was bored! I needed something else. I felt fluffy and slow. I finally found HIIT training and i feel the best I ever have. Light, quick, AND still strong. It took me a long time to accept I don’t have to squat or bench that much anymore (even thought I felt it was awesome), and I could workout in different ways, have different goals and achieve them. ⚡️don’t be afraid to switch it up. Take that leap, try something you may look ridiculous at. I had never used a rowing machine before, but boy is that a calorie burner! I worked on form and technique and now I get a ton out of that machine. I still like to use a gym every once in a while, like this one for hypertrophy gains. ⚡️Step out of that comfort zone. You’ll be glad you did. Get after it today! 👊🏻

#OrangeTheoryFitness made this old Heavy weight training guy a believer. So much that I bought my first pair of running shoes EVER! I always hated Cardio. So much that I would make my diet so that weight training was all I needed to "look good in a tee shirt." But after working there and adding 3 days a week of OrangeTheory on top of my weekly weight training. I immediately noticed a huge improvement in my heavy lifts and conditioning. (I also realized that even tho I "looked" in shape, I was clearly not. Lol ) Plus it's much easier to eat in a caloric deficit when burning that many calories during a 1 hour workout. PERFECT for that tweak in figure for the warm weather. Plus I feel so much better. More energy, better focused, and happy! Who knew cardio didnt have to SUCK! #FitFam #FitLife #fitnessfreaks #fitguys #fitstagram #fitnessaddict #fitgirls #fitchicks #gym #gymrat

Today was all about meal prep. I only need 3 prepped breakfasts so I did that. I got the marinade made & put the chicken in and cut up & seasoned butternut squash for tonight. I brined pork chops in the morning then dried them and seasoned them to sit overnight for tomorrow. I made the chicken for lettuce wraps Thursday. I made a sauce for tonight, a Baja sauce for fish tacos Tuesday and a Chipotle butter for tomorrow's pork chops. I cut up carrot and marinated cucumbers to go with the wraps. Finally cut up broccoli and sliced sweet potatoes for dinner Wednesday.
