ORC WEEK 4
. Finally. My “design” plan for this room. I use that term loosely because I really have it all in my head, and these are just elements that I want to incorporate. I am open to things changing, but this is my starting point
I knew I wanted blue cabinets that leaned teal. Done. Once I finished painting though, I had a difficult time making the next few choices. Exactly what colors did I want to incorporate? The oil painting you see was in our bedroom, and walking by it one day I realized that it would pull together all of the color that I was hoping to infuse into this room. Blue, rust, gold and mint green. I suspect that these will be the main colors for this room .
That rust hanging planter you see? I’ve fallen HARD for it. I’m not sure I can spend the money on it, but I haven’t been able to get it out of my mind yet .
I’m picking up that rug off of Facebook marketplace (socially distanced and responsible!) tomorrow. I’m stoked! The colors appear to match the painting EXACTLY. Perhaps a little too on the nose, but I’m going for it anyway .
There is a close up of the chrome closures I’ve put on the cabinets. I’m a huge fan of mixing metals, so the gold lettering in the logo shows that the chrome, gold and rust will all work together. Again, it’s all in the painting. 😍 .
Wood...I’ll bring it in somehow. Countertops, shelves, accent pieces...I’m not yet sure, but it’ll be there. As will plants .
Ok, it’s all been great up until now. Remember how I wanted to do a project that scared me? I’m doing it! We are putting bead board on the ceiling! If you swipe to the next picture you’ll see that it’s not going so well right now. But, we have a plan to fix and complete it soon .
Seeing this all together, I’m excited! Thanks for reading this far and following along. 💙. #oneroomchallenge #bhgorc #terrazzo
