Last week I forgot to add honey to my shopping list when I went to the store. This led to forgetting to buy it and not having it when I needed to bake bread. I try very hard to stay away from the store and buy only what I need, to leave product for others to get by in these uncertain times.
I knew I wouldn't make it back to the store for another week, at least, so I got online to see if I could find someone selling honey. Thankfully, @honeyrunfarm
sells honey on Etsy. It was so reassuring to order from the source! No middle man. No distributor between me and the goods. The shipping was fast (I ordered Saturday, it shipped Monday, and I believe it got here Wednesday) and packed well.
I am all for supporting farmers! They are the true "essential worker," literally feeding the masses by growing, raising and harvesting goods so the rest of us can live through this.
While this farm isn't local to me, I ask you to support your local & national farmers in this trying time. If they go, we all go. 🧑🏼🌾🐝🍯💛👩🏽🌾
Also pictured is one of my current reads, Dance of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson. It took me a couple of chapters to get used to her writing style but I'm really enjoying it! The storyline is gripping and in this stressful time I don't mind a little budding romance mixing in with everything else. I wish I had more time to dedicate to my current reads, but alas, I'm thankful that when I do have time to read, it's a great time. Also, I'm glad I waited until I had the second book in this duology, Vow of Thieves, before starting book 1 because I'm already feeling like I won't want to wait to get back into this world when book 1 ends. 📚🧡
