Some people have high arches, some have low arches but every human should have AN arch on the inside border of their foot

Having a stable arch in your foot (bottom image) comes primarily from hips that function optimally

When you overdose on sitting in chairs, your hips lose the ability to generate torque and stability which collapses the lower leg and results in flat feet (top picture) and issues at the knee/hip/and low back
.
The hip creates the arch, the foot muscles hold the arch in place once formed. Shoes can mess up your feet but without addressing our hip imbalances it will be hard to create real change long term
.
Spend time barefoot, work on your feet and hips daily, reduce time spent sitting in chairs and spend 10 minutes daily working on balance (we sell balance beams for this at tfc-shop.com or you can make your own)

This weekend was a highlight of my professional career. No, I did not do anything personally. 💪In fact, I didn't do anything besides sit on my ass or provide my biceps as an anchor for a banded face pull.... ✍️But I did find myself scribbling notes like a mad man in my notebook.

The main ingredient in Athleticism is to work your body in an unorthodox way in comparison to the convenience of The Industry's Fitness Standards.

You must realize that Athleticism is to prepare athletes in different ways to achieve their optimum level.

TRX Shoulder Walk is a great exercise for all Combat athletes and Ball athletes (basketball, volleyball, handball) for it works on shoulder strength and stability in addition to the Whole body as a stabilizer.

Push to your furthest limits, hold for 3 seconds then go back to the starting point. 
Repeat as much as possible and dont take a break that lasts more than 1 minute. 
Remember this is a "conditioning exercise" it is not meant in any shape or form to be used as part of a Hypertrophy program.

FIRST Vid!
1️⃣Lay down and bend both legs.
2️⃣Straighten one leg and hold the leg with your hands.
3️⃣Point the foot away from you.
4️⃣Point the foot towards your head.
👉You should feel a slight stretch in this position. Adjust the leg to where it’s comfortable.
🔁10 reps is a great place to start.

1️⃣Sit down on something that’s raised up.
2️⃣Kick the leg out in front of you and flex your foot. (Foot/toes will be pointing towards your face.)
3️⃣At the same time extend your neck back.
4️⃣Return to the starting position but this time flex your neck and look down.
🔁Repeat for 10 reps and don’t force anything if it becomes too uncomfortable.

I spent so much time in deep, meaningful conversation with powerful women who are changing the fitness industry.

@megsquats is crushing her mission of getting a barbell in every woman’s hands.

@kourtneythomascoach is speaking, coaching, and advocating for better representation of women and other underrepresented groups in the fitness industry and her local community.

@5ftoffury1 is the 2019 NSCA Personal Trainer of the Year 👏🏻👏🏻 and has several books and e-books coming out soon geared toward clearing up nutrition myths and misconceptions.

@soheefit is helping get evidence-based strength and conditioning and nutrition information to the masses in an accessible and digestible way.

Holly Crane is doing important work educating trainers about gender identity and strength training through her work at @equinox, @womensstrengthcoalition, and Williams college.

Another way to develop power with a trap bar is a countermovement high pull.  It’s just like a barbell high pull but you can accentuate the rapid eccentric portion of the movement much easier.  The fast eccentric component just before the concentric portion is incredibly important to train because it:

1. Is used by every athlete in real life sport movements 
2. Is the portion of explosive movements most often problematic for athletes.  Lack of control can lead to injuries. 
3. A lack of eccentric strength is often responsible for a lack of concentric power because it cannot be controlled thereby increasing the amortization phase and decreasing the elastic component of the motion.

You could easily jump instead of performing the pull.  A jump would use a lighter weight while the pull allows for heavier weights. 
@drakerebel315 is only a sophomore in high school and was able to become proficient in this movement with very minimal coaching because it’s very natural movement. -
