I see people momentarily quitting on themselves every single day and it breaks my fucking heart.
You could have all the ‘right’ things in place and yet, they become completely submissive to the voice inside their head that tells them they aren’t ‘doing enough’ or ‘changing enough’ or the progress isn’t happening ‘fast enough’. (I won’t go into how their world around them contributes, but it does, greatly)
And so they begin to spiral.
They make permanent decisions based on temporary situations, and for a moment or day or week or even a month or year, they quit.
When I began making change, that’s exactly what it was like for me, too.
So how did I go from being a woman quitting on herself to a woman who thrives on challenges and hard stuff?
In choosing (and it is a conscious choice) to not quit I learned something profound -
There is no finish line.
The reality is, we are changing all the time with every single decision we make whether you dub it right or wrong.
If that’s true (and it is), then our job is to weave through the bullshit and make room and take up space accordingly, forever.
Our work never ends. Ever.
Here are two things I am absolutely certain of if you’re on the brink of quitting and throwing in the towel -
• Even the perfect plan still cannot guarantee results. • There is absolution in quitting. You are guaranteed no results.
That leaves us with something like this -
You’ve got nothing to lose by staying the path because you definitely lose if you quit.
The struggle is -
The old you will ALWAYS come in and remind you how small you once were. Making change incredibly difficult.
Difficult, not impossible.
Difficult, because you’ve got work to do.
Difficult, because progress doesn’t come from doing easy things.
So remember, babe;
We don’t become the change by chasing the change. We become the change by realising quitting is not actually an option anymore. We become the change by being the change. We become the change by doing, not by saying. 🌻
I believe in you so fucking much! If you’re about to quit, know this, your work is not done! And the only way to avoid defaulting to a quitters mindset in future, is to not quit today.🔥
