I was not planning to be in full-on tears at 1:00 am last night watching this movie but with beautiful performances, writing, and one of the most heartbreaking twists in film history, ‘The Sixth Sense’ has left a mark on me that will last a lifetime.

Check out my review through the link in the bio.

Walking into the sequel all I can think about is how much love I have for the first #Zombieland. I really appreciate a film that doesn’t try to be more than it needs to be and this is one of the best examples of that. The humor feels like it fits #JesseEisenberg best but the whole cast is phenomenally funny. It’s like the movie stepped up to the plate and took a bunt but ended up hitting a home run. Everything about the film seemed like lighting in a bottle and if the sequel is in line with the first I can assure that they’ll be at the top of some of my lists.

A second review on @reelworldtheo this week! @jokermovie is a terrific psychological potboiler that doesn’t let go until the very end. It’s one of my favorite films of the year. There’s a lot to unpack thematically as well. Link in bio.

Zombieland: Double Tap 2019
Director: Ruben Fleischer
Writer: Dave Callaham, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick.
IMDB Score: 7.3/10
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 65%

It’s time to nut up or shut up.

All four characters from Zombieland (2009) return for the sequel 10 years later. This was one of the best sequels to a movie I’ve seen. It was a sequel that you wouldn’t be able to fully enjoy without seeing the original movie.
The new types of Zombies and the new characters were a great aspect of this sequel. Hats off to @zoeydeutch who plays Maddison and made the whole audience laugh.
This movie was nothing short of outstanding and provides a great cinematic experience for all Zombieland lovers. The new zombies are also epic. They’re broken into 4 different types the Homer (after Homer Simpson), Hawking (after Stephen Hawking), Ninja and the T-800s. My favourite was the Homer’s.

There was a lot of references to the original movie including the death of Bill Murray. Abigail, Emma, Jesse and Woody have blessed the world with this sequel and it will definitely be one to watch again and again. It’s a loving, gruesome and funny movie that earned a respectable ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me.

Favourite line: “it’s just a homer don’t waste any bullets”

I wanted to enjoy every minute of Gemini Man. Nothing is more frustrating than a good idea and it’s poorly executed, especially when it comes from someone like Ang Lee, and it’s genuinely something, that this is coming from the director who put out Life of Pi. This film honestly had its moments, and man does Will Smith, and the rest of the cast try to make it work. Still, unfortunately, due to the lackluster story that feels the need to hold the viewer’s hand every step of the way, what probably would have been a much better flick, is going to end up being one of the most forgettable movies of 2019.

The Emoji Movie is nowhere near as terrible as the majority of the critics said it is. It looks good, the world building is great and it is overall fun and engaging to watch, but it definitely is very mediocre in the areas of humor which is juvenile, scripting which is copying much better films such as Ralph and Inside Out and characters who are mostly unlikable stereotypes.

My Rating - 2.5

VIVARIUM
EUA, 2019
Lorcan Finnegan

Imogen Poots (Gemma), Jesse Eisenberg (Tom)

Film 16: Party Hard Die Young (2018)

Leave an average looking corpse.

At least that's my plan... But in this movie a bunch of German teens go and party on an island to celebrate the end of their exams... And then some serial killer with a happy mask starts picking them off. If you're a fan of the 90's slasher formula, and Alice DJ, then this movie is the movie for you. It does feel like it should have been made at least ten years earlier though.
Best moments: Carmen owns it on stage... Man falls through glass panelling... Pit climbing tension.

Worst moments: Blatantly obvious killer... Two lads get bottle raped... That overall feeling of being at a Timmy Trumpet concert before the drugs have kicked in.

What I learned from this movie: Spin the bottle can be a dangerous game.

Drink level: Not enough shots.

Under the Shadow - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dir. by Babak Anvari
*Available to stream on @netflix*
.
Set in the mid-80s in Tehran at the height of the Iran-Iraq War, Iranian writer-director Babak Anvari has created an incredibly unique film with Under the Shadow that perfectly encapsulates the horrors that civilians caught in the crossfire of war must have felt at the time. The narrative transition from these real world threats to something far more sinister and supernatural is subtle and incredibly well done. Through a combination of claustrophobic framing and “never quite still” handheld camera movements, Anvari injects a chilling sense of discomfort simply through his ‘less-is-more’ directing style.
.
Under the Shadow manages to deliver enough hair-raising suspense and traditional jump scares to keep most mainstream audiences entertained, all while still offering an atmospheric, heavily metaphorical, and ambiguous movie watching experience cinema-snobs will be sure to analyze and dissect. Being listed on the 1001 Movies to See Before You Die and sitting pretty with a 99% on RottenTomatoes, Under the Shadow is a must watch for not only horror fans, but movie lovers in general.

Classic review: Spooktober edition (spoilers ahead) 🎃🎃

Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining is at once a terrible adaption of a classic book and a masterpiece of a motion picture. Haunting in its bleak and methodical nature, the lack of reliable observers tints the narrative with a lens that cannot differentiate between the real and the mental. For those unaware of the classic premise, the set up is simple: Jack Torrance is a recovering alcoholic and struggling writer, looking to rebuild his life. He takes a job as the winter caretaker for the Overlook Hotel in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and brings his wife and kids with him. Unbeknownst to him and his wife, his son Danny has psychic abilities and is able to sense future events. Slowly, his mental health deteriorates, and he becomes dangerous to his wife and child. When I first saw this film as a teen on YouTube (back before they were good at taking down pirated movies), I hated it. Its slow and confusing story left me bored and uninterested. Even as I grew and learned how to dissect film and how to glean themes, messages, and technique, I let that initial impression deter me from ever revisiting it. After years of pestering, one of my close friends convinced me to rewatch it with him. I was enthralled from beginning to end. King’s original novel is unabashedly about a supernatural world/superpowers existing (much like Eleven from Stranger Things if you need a modern comp) and their direct effect on the Torrance family. Kubrick took the premise, characters, and setting, and crafted a near blank slate of a film that allows the viewer’s own knowledge and/or personal experience to interpret the events happening on screen. ⬇️

14. The Favourite.
_______
“Did you just look at me? Did you? Look at me! LOOK AT ME! HOW DARE YOU! CLOSE YOUR EYES!”
_______
Coming from Yorgos, this movie was a shock because of it’s subject material being conventional, but I wasn’t surprised to see his unconventional style was still alive and well. But not enough to make it so jarring of a film. It’s really really well put together. I think the comedic and dramatic balance is absolutely perfect. When the comedy is there it’s so hilariously written and delivered, and when it’s dramatic it feels so gripping. I absolutely adore the performances from the main 3. Rachel Weisz especially is dark, funny and brilliant. Olivia Colman nailed it and absolutely deserved that Oscar. Emma Stone was amazing and very fun too. And let’s not forget Nicholas Hoult who was fucking hysterical. I think overall I just had a lot of fun watching this movie. I really did love a lot about it, and I imagine I would on a rewatch too. As period dramas go it’s easily the most unique I’ve ever seen. Something else.
RATING ON REVIEW: 9/10.

👹 #HellHouseLLC (2015). Five years ago something when horribly wrong at a haunted house attraction. Fifteen people died horrible bloody deaths. Survivors have been silenced and the police won’t disclose what happened inside. A documentary crew tries to dig in and find out the truth. They find the single surviving member of the haunted house staff and interview her. She is a shell of a woman, obviously haunted by what happened at the old Abaddon hotel (where Hell House is set up). She surprisingly brings a bag of home videos from when they were setting up the haunted attention. These videos set up the grizzly events leading up to, and including, the fateful night. Ok guys and gals, this movie is pretty damn good. If you hate found footage films then it’s probably not your bag. I’d still try and pressure you to give it a go. Listen, it’s a lot of fun, it’s unique and it frightening, but most of all this movie is teeeeense! The cameras aren’t Blair Witch shaky and the acting is even a little better. Setting a horror movie in a haunted hotel/ in a haunted house attraction/ in an abandoned satanic ritual spot, is a really good list of ingredients for a solid horror film. I’m so excited to check out the sequels but don’t expect them to top this one.
4/5 Skillets.

Whether you want to admit it or not, Scary Movie is an iconic comedy. Is it excellent? That's up for debate. But there's no doubt that's it's had a serious impact on the film industry. It spawned the (Unfortunately) eternal parody genre and quite a bit of memes. And it's not that bad of a movie, either. I can see why people dislike it but for me it's a serviceable, funny horror comedy. I have a funny story about this movie too; last summer, I came home from seeing Hereditary. It was the rare horror film that not only disturbed me but horrified me. In an effort to actually get sleep and not think about a cult putting my family at the center of a ritual, I decided to watch Scary Movie since it was on Netflix (it isn't anymore Unfortunately). It helped, though. This movie isn't particularly "smart" but I have the sense of humor of a 9-year-old, which is probably why I found this so damn funny. Are there other movies that make fun of the horror genre, and better? Yes, yes, and yes. Scary Movie may not be subtle but it doesn't need to be. It's a stupid movie, but one that in my opinion, works.

I don’t know if its because I watched them both on the same day, but Zombieland 2: Double Tap was great.
As I said Zombieland was clever, witty and just generally funny in a soft kind of way, and it’s back and funnier than before, it had laugh out loud moments, funnier and sillier.
Zombieland took the throne for a while being the highest grossing zombie move to grace the US, but then of course the colossal that was World War Z wrecked that, even though it was based 10 years later and they made you aware of that the chemistry between the actors and actresses was fantastic, like they had spent all those years together out in the wilderness, it had the same feeling and same emotional connection, they’re living in the White House and they’re making life great. Then it goes a-wry one of them isn’t happy and wants to spell separating the group, where new members come in, go, leave, get killed, turn and have nut allergies… anyway, it’s all goes to shit and bringing them back together is made hard by the T-800. Wait, what?

What do you get when you put a boy unaware of his manhood into a world riddled with zombies? A lot of humour it seems, this was a good movie for the franchise, that franchise being zombie I mean, it went into the humour of Zombies, I feel the genre needed it at this time, as it had gone away from zombie humour that we saw in shaun of the dead in 2004 and hot fuzz in 2007 to name just a few common ones let alone the lesser known ones… into 2009 alone that saw Dead Snow (okay, kind of funny), Dog House, The Horde, Zone of the Dead, Dead Air, Autumn and a bunch tun more. As well as the AMAZING game Left for Dead reminding us gamers how scary zombies were, and left for dead 2 dropping in 2009 But more on left for dead later.
I found this one enjoyable and relaxed with some simple yet effective humour. The nerdy-loveble-could be hot Columbus added the humour on a heavier level, whereas Tallahassee had me asking if I had a thing for much older men or not, he’s unattractive in an attractive kind of way came in with the one liner almost dad like jokes.
Its more of a “if there is a zombie apocolypse” I might put this movie in my arsenal as some of the rules implemented in the movie are actually fantastic, I don’t feel safe in the toilets most of the time (unless its my own, but that’s invaded by the feline zombie type), let alone in the zombie apocalypses, I’d probably herniate my intestines and hold it all in. Go out Boomer style… where as most of the movies of this year are very “I’m screwed if the zombies come”, “the government is going to make zombies” “I’m scared of zombies”. It was nice to see logical humans making logical choices in such a situation and not being dip shits.

THE LAST RITES OF RANSOM PRIDE (2010). Sometimes head-shakingly bad western where Lizzy Caplan plays a prostitute seeking revenge. It's editing is so bad, it seems like a child with Adhd edited it. The directing is like a music video gone bad, and seems to have taken inspiration from 90's Oliver Stone and early to mid 2000 Tony Scott, quick cuts, shots of other things, rewinds, with them it's arty, inspiring, exciting, here, there are many close up shots of skulls, a spider crawling, yet with no rhythm, no reasoning, and adds nothing to the occurrences on screen. When shootouts occur, I can't tell who is being shot or where. Watching Lizzy Caplan play a tough girl seems to be it's only appeal. Dwight Yoakoam, Jon Foster, the talented W. Earl Brown, an unrecognizable Jason Priestley, Peter Dinklage, Scott Speedman, Cote De Pablo, and Kris Kristofferson also star. Awful. The type of film where you know it's terrible as soon as it starts. #thelastritesofransompride #lizzycaplan #dwightyoakam #wearlbrown #scottspeedman #peterdinklage #kriskristofferson #western #westernfilm #filmreviews #film #drama #moviereviews #action #screenmedia #independentfilm #jonfoster #jasonpriestley

****THE BLOB (88)****
(1988)
.
The moment someone was pulled through a sinks waste disposal I knew I really liked this movie.
I saw the original blob movie years ago and always wanted to see this 80s remake due to its reputation as a gore fest, and I was not disappointed.
It astounds me that effects like this were being done before I was even five years old! Some of this stuff reminded me of the thing it was that good.
Also there's a ridiculous amount of references to the Friday the 13th franchise for a movie about a giant acidic jelly.
It's a huge amount of fun but is as you would expect about a man eating blob and pretty light on anything resembling a plot besides blob falls from space, government agency quarantines town, blob eats people.
There's no point banging on about this one as it's the blob of old meets the thing in an 80s setting and if you haven't seen it and love either 80s movies or horror then you really should.

Zombieland Double Tap review: (I’ll try and keep spoilers to a minimum)
For ten years we’ve waited for this sequel to Zombieland, and for the most part it’s surprisingly good. Since it’s been 10 years since the first film, we’re watching characters who’ve been through a whole lot of stuff, shaping them into an older and more functional family than when we last saw them in the original film. The entire film feels like a trip back to 2009 with the cast returning and the comedy being just as good thanks to Woody Harrelson once again and Zoey Deutch; when the two of them are in a scene together they absolutely steal the show, going back and forth between each other so much that they’re the best part of the film. Even the addition of Rosario Dawson, Luke Wilson and Thomas Middleditch brought something fun and enjoyable to the film with how they interacted with our lead characters, with one of the best scenes in the whole movie involving them all. Where the film fails the most is the actual story, because at times it felt like the characters were forgetting what their goal was and instead they were just hanging out in some places, and it didn’t come into full gear until the final act but since there’s only a runtime of 99 minutes, it’s a pretty short film for everything it has in it. Just like the original there’s the gore and the outrageously crazy and comical kills, as well as callbacks to the first film that are pretty fun.Overall I think Double Tap doesn’t quite live up to the bar that the original set, but its enjoyable enough to satisfy any fan of the first film.
I give Zombieland Double Tap a grade B🧟‍♂️

6.5/10. Luke, Hutch, Phil and Dom travel from the UK to northern Sweden to hike Kungsleden to honour the memory of their friend Rob, who was killed in a robbery six months earlier. During the hike, the four friends take a shortcut through an eerie forest, where they take shelter in a lodge. After a night of terrifying nightmares, it's starting to dawn on the group that they're being hunted by something horrendous. This film has all the elements that a good horror movie should have, in my opinion. It's spooky, suspenseful and bizarre and it contains a few, but not too many, jump scares. It also adds some drama and humour to that. The music is absolutely amazing and the group of actors playing the four friends all give fantastic performances. They have great chemistry, which makes the relationship between the characters believable and natural. The editing is slightly off at times but it kind of works for the movie. The story is not perfect but it's rather unpredictable and even if the first half of the movie is more in my taste personally, the second half is still highly entertaining and chilling in a weird sort of way. Since parts of the movie are quite dark, it's recommended that it's watched on a high quality non-patchy screen. This is a suspenseful and delightfully spooky movie that immediately pulls you into the story and doesn't let go.

Here is FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI: JASON LIVES, directed by Tom McLoughlin. This 1986 slasher film is the 6th installment in the Friday the 13th franchise. This is easily the best one out of the entire series, including the original film. This film is full of self aware humor, awesome kills, and characters that are extremely entertaining to watch. Jason is finally back in this film as a zombie killer, and man, it’s f**kin’ awesome. Check this one out!

@wellgousa is an incredible distribution/production company that doesn't get enough love for their diverse output. Like A24 and RLJE, they stretch their arms for outside-of-the-box films that test boundaries and the craft itself. Rich period dramas like The Assassin and Shadow, high energy action like Furie, The Villianess, and Triple Threat, horror classics and modern efforts, such as Phantasm, The Wailing, and The Endless... with a heavy emphasis on world cinema -mostly Eastern- you get to try out a lot of different tones, styles, and tastes once you delve into their extensive catalog.
Which Well Go USA releases are you most attached to?
It's hard to pick favorites... but I've got to go with The Man From Nowhere! It's one of the most intense and dramatic action movies ever made! Hell, even John Wick can't hold a candle to it!

Mikes Review - You wanted more #patroni well you got him and probably a little too much of him 😉in this 4th iteration of the Airport franchise and this was without a doubt a stinker. Just a hot mess all around, from the acting, the screenplay and the special effects this franchise was out of ideas and seemed like it was begrudgingly made. If I hadn’t wanted to be an #AirportTerminalDVD franchise completest, I would have been out after 20 minutes, but suffer through I did. Spoiler alerts ahead, but who am I kidding you won’t watch this, no one should. Here are the gory details, #robertwagner stars as Kevin Harrison who for some reason gets a harebrained idea to blow up the #Concorde, the hottest air transport from US to Europe that was all the rage back in the 70’s/80’s. On its maiden flight, Harrison’s plan is to take down the #Concorde via a surface to air missile to assassinate a reporter on board, #susanblakely as Maggie Whelan, who has information that can ruin him and his arms dealing company. Patroni aka #georgekennedy the once sturdy and dependable secondary character in this franchise is now the center of attention somehow morphing from mechanic in #Airport to full blown Concorde pilot out on it’s first jump across the pond! #Charo and her stowaway dog to attempts to add levity, not much else, sadly or lucky for them no golden oldies stars in this one. Not mystery science theater 3k funny, but definitely some 😂 moments with incredibly sketchy effects and a love scene with #patroni, yep, brace yourself 😳. Now you’ve got to watch this right? 😉. iMDB link: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078740/; 🎥 Source: DVD; With a budget of $14M, made $13M effectively ending the franchise 😞. Wiki Note: Can you believe this was written by #oscar winner #ericroth (#forrestgump), I’m sure he loves seeing this one on his resume 😃. Bonus Wiki: Additional footage was added to the TV version so it could fill a 3 hour premier slot, thankfully none of that footage has since been released on home video in any format. Painful runtime of 113 min. #movies #cinemareviews #moviereviews #filmreviews #badmovies #filmcritic #airport #airport79

Zombieland
Grade: A-
By focusing on the lead characters and fleshing them out, Zombieland is able to stray away from the usual zombie movie storylines and it is all the better for it. Being Frank. Super fun movie to watch. I found it entertaining and had some pretty good laughs. "While celebrating spring break, 17-year-old Phil is shocked to see his father with another family at their old vacation spot. His life gets turned upside down even more when he learns that dad Is living a completely second life with another wife and kids. Phil then shows up to dads house to surprise him"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 - Ghost Shark was a SyFy Channel Original Movie from back in 2013 that seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle over the years in the over-abundance of SyFy Channel shark movies. And that's a real shame because as a fan of these things, this is one of the better ones in the very large group.

I mean, it's right there in the title. It's a movie about the ghost of a shark hunting people and killing them, wherever there's water. That a totally insane idea, mixed with the amazingly inventive death scenes that come from such an idea, makes Ghost Shark stand far above all the generic cookie-cutter same-same shark movies that SyFy has put out over the years. It includes death scenes like the shark appearing on a slip and slide, chasing people down by floating in the air via water sprinklers that are going off, attacking someone in a bathtub, someone drinking coffee and the shark then bursts up from inside of them, plus plenty of more!

What also helps this one is the CGI for the ghost shark effects, especially for a TV movie, look damn good most of the time, which goes a long way to making those cheestastic attack scenes even better. Some of the acting is spotty however, and there was a subplot dealing with an old man lighthouse keeper that murdered his wife that I really could have done less with (or none at all), but overall this is one of my personal favorite shark movies made by the SyFy Channel, and by far one of the most insanely cheesy ones as well. You can always count on SyFy to bring the platter of cheese to the party.
Edit: Also, and I swear this is 100% coincidence, I just saw that this is streaming on @movie_spree today for free, for today only, so head on over there and check it out for yourself! #BMovieShelfReview #GhostShark #Syfy #syfyoriginal #nothorror #horrormovie #horrormovies #movie #movies #horrorreview #horrorreviews #moviereview #moviereviews #horrormoviereviews #horrormoviereview #rating #ratings #horrorlover #horroraddict #horrorfan #horrorfanatic #horrornerd #instahorror #film #films #filmreview #filmreviews #horrorlife #horrorjunkie #nonhorror

Parasite- where do I even Begin... Bong Joon Ho (Snow Piercer/Okja) Korean film director's latest project Parasite was an unexpected delight full of twists, turns, cunning & oddly loveable characters taking you on a wild journey with an ending the biggest of film buffs couldn't predict. Personally im not much of a foreign film or "subtitles guy" but good art (city of God, apocalypto) hold you in place and Parasite is no different. I came in the theater with no expectations, left with a bemused "Wow" on my face and in mind. No more to say without spoiling anything but it is not what you might expect it to be, but worth the watch👍🏽👍🏽 #EthansUniverse #ManofMovies #moviebro #parasite #boonjongho #moviereviews

The year is 1996. Will Smith is one of the biggest actors and rappers at the time; Roland Emmerich and Michael Bay are directing some of the biggest films at the time: Independence Day and Bad Boys. Both of which happened to star Will Smith. My point to all of this is that Gemini Man should easily be lumped in with the other 90s action movies he did, except it released well over two decades later. And now we have Will Smith, a 51-year-old meme starring in a film that's possibly even more of a meme. Anywho, the reviews for this film probably led you into thinking this movie sucks. It's not that bad. Will Smith gets to fight Will Smith eventually and when that happens it's pretty cool. Will Smith throws a motorcycle at Will Smith. Yay. It's fun. This is what makes true cinéma and you can not deny it. But really, this movie is pretty great when there's action. Ang Lee knows how to direct action sequences. This movie isn't so great when there is no action. It's just bad dialogue. It's as simple as that and I have no clue why I'm writing a review for something I can summarize my thoughts on in a sentence. Action good dialogue bad. I'm gonna forget about it eventually and this could have been much better but it's a fine movie. Go to Blockbuster in a few months and rent it.

I wrote about the seductive & glamorous “Hustlers” (2019) 👠👙👄 Read it if you’d like, but also know that if you will watch for no other reason than to see Jennifer Lopez give the BEST DAMN STRIP TEASE OF ALL TIME, then “Hustlers” will still be worth your while.

****FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE FINAL CHAPTER****
(1984)
.
Woodland setting? Check✔
30 year olds cast as teenagers? Check✔
Pointless nudity? Bet your ass there is.
Yep this is definitly a Friday the 13th movie, but I have to say that this one stands out as my favourite in the series so far and I've only got the second one and Jason X to go so chances are this could be the top dog for me.
It's so basic to what you'd expect from one of these movies, teens in and around crystal lake copping off with each other and getting the business end of a machete in the face, but that's the beautiful simplicity here that's been missing from so many of the other movies in the series, just show me Jason butchering teenagers in bloody and creative ways for 90 minutes and I'm a happy bunny 👌
Plus I was pleasantly surprised to see a young crispin glover and Cory feldman in the cast.
If your going to make my and mistake and haphazardly watch the movies over two decades then I highly recommend starting with the first then jumping to this followed by Jason lives and then just calling it a day, you'll thank me for it 👌
I think I'm done with crystal lake for this year but there's plenty more to get through before this month is out 👻

Set in the late 1700s Navdeep Singh's 'Laal Kaptaan' is basically a historical thriller-revenge drama.

Few years after The Battle of Buxar, Mughals,Marathas, Pathans and British East India Company are competing to hold on to their land and conquer more. This isn't the nice place to be. Everyone is chasing each other. Men and women are getting slaughtered. Families are getting betrayed.Even children are not spared.
Into this chaos dropped is a Naga Sadhu who is trying to haunt down a man who did him something wrong in the past.

This interesting storyline gets lost in it's way from board to the film.

In one interview Zoya Akhtar said that most important thing in making a film is perspective on the story. What is your take, what are you saying and what does it mean. That's what you need. Everything else will just come.Makers of Laal Kaptaan should have watched that interview.

Plot loses its way after half an hour. Characters are one note and underwritten and dialogues are not getting to anywhere. In order to act clever big reveal comes so much late that audience has already given up guessing the things. And eventually we get a very forced climax.
Costumes, locations, background score, cinematography are notable. But if you don't have a point of view, how does it matter how great the shots are.Saif Ali Khan, Manav Vij, Zoya Hussain and Deepak Dobriyal gave strong performances. But again for what?

Zombieland Double Tap review
This was a super enjoyable sequel and slightly better than I thought it would have been. Most comedy sequels fall flat however Zombieland 2 did not.
First off, this was one hell of a ride from the start to end with great zombie killing action and gorey violence. I was laughing a lot at most of the jokes and the returning cast did a really good job and were almost as good as they were in the first. Woody and Jessie were my favourite parts of Zombieland and love their chemistry and humour, which they once again deliver.
Director,Ruben Fleischer, and writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, return and that actually helped this sequel. Their direction and writing helped bring back the self awareness and comedic nature of the first almost perfectly.
While the new characters weren’t really the best, Zoey Deutch’s Maddison (@zoeydeutch )character brought out many stupid laughs and left me chuckling for a while. She definitely plays stupid well 😂. This also brings me to my main weakness of the movie, the new characters and character arcs.
The new characters serve very little purpose to the actual movie and felt super one dimensional. Another thing that didn’t help the movie was that they split up the main crew which meant most of the family type interaction of the first wasn’t there.

Overall, Zombieland Double Tap is a good sequel and definitely long overdue. It had great violent action and gore which I loved. The returning cast were once again great however the new members were slightly underwhelming. ——————————————————
I give Zombieland Double Tap 8.5 out of 10

Zombieland Double Tap review This was a super enjoyable sequel and slightly better than I thought it would have been. Most comedy sequels fall flat however Zombieland 2 did not. First off, this was one hell of a ride from the start to end with great zombie killing action and gorey violence. I was laughing a lot at most of the jokes and the returning cast did a really good job and were almost as good as they were in the first. Loon Lake
Grade:B-
Loon Lake is well cast, well told, and a well made independent film. While it may not be big on scares, the bleak atmosphere and existential torment work and help to bridge the past and present timelines #ShortAndSweet #LoonLake #Minnesota #witch #curse #loon #lake #indie #indiefilm #indiehorror #indiefilmmaker #independentfilm #filmminnesota #amazon #amazonprime #Shocktober #Shocktoberfest #31DaysOfHorror #MovieLoversMovieClub #horrormovies #horrormovie #horrorjunkie #horrorfan #horrorreview #moviereview #moviereviews #filmcritic #filmreview #Shortandsweetreview

Though many people probably went into this movie thinking they would see a violent and dark take on the comic book film (as I did), Joker is much more about the exploration of having a mental health condition and how society reacts to it.

Arthur suffers from severe mental illness but we see little sympathy for his condition. This relates to his feeling about being ignored. One profound and heartbreaking entry in his journal reads, "The worst part of having a mental illness is people expect you to behave as if you don't." This movie was heartbreaking at times. I actually felt the pain of the character. I've already heard that people don't want to see "Joker" because of their hate for the character or because they don't wanna see a bloodbath movie. Well it's far from that. You may see this movie as a violent bloodbath film about a psychopath, but I truly see it from a different side. It's about a guy with a mental illness not caused by him, but by someone else. A guy who tries to fit in with society, but gets rejected because of his mental issues. I don't personally believe that Joker wanted to be a killer. He was pushed and bullied into being the villain he is today.
The life lesson for this movie is really simple. Accept everyone. Even if they have a mental illness or are crazy, accept them for who they are. I'm a caregiver for autistic teenager's, and boy is it rough at times. They don't know how crazy they can be at times. They get violent and curse like crazy, but that doesn't change how I care for them. It's not their fault that they act the way they do.
Mental Illness is a serious and real thing that should not be taken lightly. So I ask you all today to think before you act or speak on any action whatsoever. It may effect someone's life in a good or bad way. You never know til it's too late.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Blessings, Brandon

It's time to nut up or shut up. Because we have a long awaited sequel coming out today, I decided to go back a decade in time and review the first movie. Besides, I have nothing better to do. So, let's get right into it. Released in 2009 and directed by Ruben Fleischer (who would later direct Venom), Zombieland was a pretty big hit. The movie was praised by critics and it was a hit at the box office, being the highest grossing zombie film ever at the time (until World War Z came out). This was actually a really fun and strong movie. It was better than I thought it would be when I saw it. While I don't think it's the best zombie movie ever, I still think it's one of the stronger ones of recent memory. The story does hit a few familiar notes, but the movie succeeds because of one thing: it's really funny. While also having moments of suspense that are executed well, the movie balances its tone out with lots of great humor, making the movie's tone overall well balanced and executed (unlike Venom, which the director also did). The movie also wins me over with funny yet realistic characters, a story that still has unique plot elements and is also engaging, makeup and visuals that still age well, great performances, and the nice sense of fun it has. Overall, this is a really funny movie that stands out when compared to other zombie movies. I can't wait to see the sequel, although I don't know when I'll see it. But until then, I'm just gonna enjoy fun and different movie. I'm gonna give Zombieland an 8.5/10.

THE BOURNE SUPREMACY[2004]
The movie is a sequel to "Bourne Identity" which showed us the life of CIA Assassin Jason Bourne who is in dissociative fugue state due to the physical injury caused during his final mission. The second chapter in the "Bourne Trilogy," based on Robert Ludlum's best-selling espionage novels.
When a CIA operation to purchase classified Russian documents is blown by a rival agent--who then shows up in the sleepy seaside village where Bourne and Marie have been living under assumed names--the pair collapse their lives and head out. Bourne, who promised retaliation should anyone from his former life attempt contact, is forced to once again take up his life as a trained assassin to survive.
The strapping Damon's lived-in performance makes us happy to follow Bourne wherever he may go.
Greengrass has a fine sense of pacing, keeping events moving. It's rarely hard to guess what's going to happen next, but events unfold with such gusto that there's barely time to notice that. The movie is full of Taut, tightly paced and thrilling, with some of the best chase sequences whether by foot, taxi or Jeep in recent memory. The action sequences are expert studies in controlled chaos. The movie lacks the human interest and snowy splendor of the first movie, directed by Doug Liman. Huge leap of faith is required to connect some of the plot details.

Original Score: 88/100
