The vulcano called Mount Eden aka Maungawhau has an immense cultural and spiritual significance to 13 maori tribes. It’s the most well preserved fortification of its type in the world, the summit and the crater are sacred areas.
A few days before I hiked up Mt. Eden our hosts told us there hasn‘t been any rain in the last 12 weeks. Can you imagine 3 months without water? As I reached the top it started raining - lucky me?
