Do you know how many times you’ve heard a woman say she hates having her picture taken? Neither do I, but I’ve lost count. I guess it’s more normal than we might think, even in this new age of everyone taking selfies. We are probably now more self conscious and worried about what they will look like than ever before.
It’s not actually the process of taking the picture that they’re afraid of – it’s the results!
I have a potential client in her 50's who’s an amazing dressmaker and she loves my pictures but she's scared to death to having the photo shoot. Ive tried to make the process as comfortable as possible for her so I’ve said we can just meet for a coffee, chat, take a walk and I will take a few photos and see if she likes them.
It's all about making your client comfortable and building trust. That's why I think photographers are amazing people, because they to be a real peoples person or they’ll never do any business.
