🇨🇭Remember the famous hit Deep Purple "Smoke on the Water"? 🎵 The story of this song is related to Montreux. “Smoke on the Water” was recorded in December 1971. The text of the song describes the real circumstances that occurred during the recording of the last disc. In December 1971, the band members came to Motreux to record their album. The album was supposed to be recorded live on the Montreux Casino stage. And the day before, Frank Zappa gave a concert in the casino hall, where Deep Purple musicians were present among the audience in the hall. In the middle of the concert, a fire broke out in the hall, which very quickly flared up and completely destroyed the casino complex. Fortunately, the victims were avoided. And the musicians, running away from the hall, already from the window of their hotel, watched the burning casino. Because of the wind, smoke from the fire swept the entire surface of the lake. This smoke inspired the band's vocalist Ian Gillan to write the text of the song "Smoke On the Water".
