My name is Maxim Vitalyevich Uskov and this is my updated Thrive Experience.
Every day since June 2017 I’ve been waking up and taking two capsules, then twenty minutes later drinking a Lifestyle Shake, and then putting a DFT (Derma Fusion Technology) on my skin. When I began the Thrive Experience, my grandmother was nearing the final year of her life and her wish was to stay at home till the very end.
To learn more on how to help her in the way she needed me to help in her weak moments, I got a job at the nearby emergency room that was saving her life countless times. My position was a Mental Health Counselor, but they taught me everything I needed to know to handle the hands on medical care that she needed at home. Six months after getting my job in the emergency room, her time was coming so I took time off to handle my grandmother's hospice care and honored her wish of wanting to pass away at home. My grandmother raised me so she was more like my mother than my grandmother. She moved me from Belarus to America when I was seven so I could have a better life. Thrive helped make it possible for me to me help her towards the end of her life as she helped me throughout mine.
Six months after her passing, I decided to follow a dream I’ve had since I was thirteen and began my journey of obtaining my Masters of Counseling so I could become a therapist. Now, I’m about to begin my internship and my dream of becoming a therapist is finally coming true. I recently finished the practicum and soon I’ll be meeting my first clients, doing one on one therapy and running a group that I’ve wanted to run since I graduated with my undergraduate degree.
Come January, at Ferreras Counseling and Wellness Center I’ll be launching the LGBTQIA+ Support Group. I have put together an eight week one hour a week journey that every eight weeks ten people part of the LGBTQIA+ community will be brought on. My hope is that I can lead my clients down a journey of self discovery, self healing, and self love.
