In recognition of Earth Day 2019, our associates conducted a cleaning activity within our house reef and along our private beach to keep the area in its natural, pristine condition. Collectively, we were able to gather 73.8 kilograms of debris, of which 53.0 kilograms was non-biodegradable waste.
In addition to our clean-up efforts, our resort continues to make progress on our pledge against single-use plastic – signed on Earth Day 2018 – as part of our brand-wide initiative to phase out the use of disposable plastics across all properties.
The harm that plastic pollution does to animal biodiversity and the natural environment is immeasurable, and there is an urgent need to raise awareness as well as to drive global action to address this threat to people and the planet.
Together, we can make a difference!
