Took a road trip down south expecting blue skies and epic sunsets. Instead, we were followed by dark clouds and constant rain. On our second to last morning, we sat in the car looking up at the dark grey skies, listening to the rain fall, just hoping to catch some sort of sunrise. The sky finally opened up and I managed to send the drone up for a good fly around Elephant Rocks. However, it wasn’t long before the clouds gathered again and the showers started. It was in that moment, as we turned to leave, dripping wet, that I managed to capture what I think is my favourite shot from the entire roadtrip. At the time, the wet weather felt like a massive inconvenience, but I would never have gotten this shot without the rain. Which is a lot like life I suppose... things don’t always pan out the way we’ve planned and we may have to put up with inconveniences, but beautiful things are sometimes born from these moments.
