Isolation - portraits from an unsociable distance
During this period of lockdown and social distancing, I wanted to spend my time productively and thus have started a new project.

Robert "An Everyday Essential.....What do you do when you can't source your basics, when the normalities of life as you knew it are suddenly removed ?
There are many ways in which the current pandemic has effected everyday life, one being the scant availability of basic foodstuffs that we take for granted as being readily available, flour has been one such commodity, the limited ability of the packing lines to switch from commercial sacks (96%) to domestic bags has proven disruptive to the bakers and cooks at home in lockdown. I was approached in early April if I could sell flour, yes I replied and decided to do so for charity.
Since the initial sale of Flour For St Thomas Church my mother and I have bagged 5,360kg for over 1000 orders , families have been able to enjoy their favourite bakes, and it keeps mum and I going as we open just one more sack!
For current availibility please look at the shop facebook page. My business is a popular venue for friends to meet over coffee and lunch, special gatherings and parties. We all await guidance on what basis we can reopen to trade and when that might be, it is an uncertain time of waiting, I hold onto my Faith and for Britford Farm Shop to be landed safe on dry land when the raging waters of this tumultuous episode in history subside as we look forward to seeing familiar faces and customers returning.
A sign in the shop reads "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to Dance in the rain"....Dance Then, wherever you may be!"
