This is me at 5pm today, with 1 cappuccino, 1 energy drink, a tuna salad, a mini white chocolage ice cream, 2 Lindt balls, 1 instant coffee, 1 @optimumnutriton Pure Pro 50 and many litres of water in my tummy.

Some days, my body will look totally different at this exact time. Sometimes because of the types of foods I’ve consumed that day, the amount of food I’ve consumed over the last few days, how close I am to getting my period (or if I have it), how much or little sleep I’ve had, my stress levels or even if I’ve just drunk a lot of liquid during the day.

Particularly as a woman, the way my body looks can change quite a bit in a short space of time. Most of the time, that doesn’t mean that I’ve put on kilos of fat or muscle over the course of a few days; it’s more than likely one of the many reasons listed above.

That’s why most selfies on this platform are taken first thing in the morning, or mid-workout with a sickening pump.

So this is me today, at 5pm, having already completed training and with food in my tummy. 
N.B. I am well aware that, particularly within the general population, I am usually considered a fairly lean person. I understand this and I understand that while my intention here is to promote body awareness and positivity, for some, this may be another “you don’t get it, you’re lean” post. I totally understand this. I don’t intend to do that, however this is the body I have, so it’s the body I’m going to post. I don’t ever want to come across as the “I’m lean, but I can relate” person”, because in some ways, I can’t. #honest

412.5kg missed 3rd attempt. In all honesty I had no business attempting this PB after managing an injury the last 6 weeks of prep, but I’m not one to leave myself wondering. I was actually surprised how close I did get, but the technical breakdown in the hole, meant I wasn’t able to recover. There was a wobble and loss of tightness in the hole and under this weight it needs to be near perfect. But none the less, 420kg+ will fall in 15 weeks. Time to focus on my technique so that I don’t pick up an injury this prep that slows me down. Technique over everything.

I really loved the super lean look & really appreciated the structure & work I had to put in to get this. I was driven each day to chip further into myself to see what results I could get through even further hard work.

I did also miss out on a lot of food with friends/family, dinner outs and usual fun flexibility with my partner (holidays). Every gram of food was weighed to the exact gram, time in the day was shorter, the energy to even have a conversation was low at times. ⠀
The main thing now though is appreciating both ways of life. I love both lifestyles.

You learn a lot from challenging yourself in these ways and have new found pride in your abilities.
You can also live and love a lot following a normal life without abs.

Happiness is the last word here. Whatever makes you happy. Do it. Do it everyday. That’s all that matters. Happiness.

By far the worst leg day I’ve had in awhile 😰 I’d been out of the gym for a few days (listening to my body because it needed some rest) and finally decided after a 3 day rest period that I was ready to get after it.

LEG DAY
I think I can speak for many people in saying that there is at least some degree of nerves associated with leg day. This is not surprising considering that lower body movements are some of the most demanding exercises, especially when trying to progress week to week!

My own setup for both lower body days has stayed fairly consistent for most of this year. I have chosen a slightly more conservative approach to volume compared to upper body which so far is working great for me. When constructing your leg sessions it’s important to choose exercises that you can perform safely and effectively progress over time. In my instance, this is why I perform only one lower back dominant movement such as squats or RDL’s before moving onto exercises which are less lower back intensive such as leg press or hip thrusts.

Ultimately though each leg day is a mental and physical challenge that I enjoy! I’m looking forward to seeing how much progress can be made for the remainder of my improvement season 💪

LEG DAY I think I can speak for many people in saying that there is at least some degree of nerves associated with leg day. This is not surprising considering that lower body movements are some of the most demanding exercises, especially when trying to progress week to week! - My own setup for both lower body days has stayed fairly consistent for most of this year. I have chosen a slightly more conservative approach to volume compared to upper body which so far is working great for me. When constructing your leg sessions it’s important to choose exercises that you can perform safely and effectively progress over time. In my instance, this is why I perform only one lower back dominant movement such as squats or RDL’s before moving onto exercises which are less lower back intensive such as leg press or hip thrusts. - Ultimately though each leg day is a mental and physical challenge that I enjoy! Ich hab das gefühl das jeder mit dem ich rede Beintraining hasst 😅 ich kann das irgen2nicht nachvollziehen, Beintraining ist definitiv mein liebstes Krafttraining. I am seriously trying to make this gym going a habit and not just a fad, too many times have I joined and left gyms as I just haven’t used them. It really makes a difference having a PT as suddenly you are not just doing it for yourself, you are doing it for them as you don’t want to let them down. That being said I best get my ass to the gym for my PT session 🤪

Cheat meals or cheat days? .

I think we can all agree that every once in a while you need to eat sonething delicious to maintain a healthy relationship with food.. only counting macros and eating clean for weeks can be a little draining.. and eventually can take away motivation from dieting or even training in general. BUT.. when you cheat.. do you go for a full day of going conpletely beserk.. or do you just eat one incredible cheat meal? .

For me; i usually go for an epic dinner, but i keep it relatively clean for the rest of the day.. i dont want to go completely overboard and i like to stay in control.. that way i can use the extra calories and carbs as fuel in the gym the next day, and get an epic work-out in.. not feeling guilty at all. 💪🏻 Which one do you pick? A full cheat day or a cheat meal?
