For a split second, I felt like many people were focusing on the pandemic rather than their weight concern as the bigger picture became the focus...but now I feel weight concern has become top of mind to distract us from the pandemic and all its fear. Diet culture isn’t helping also.
You might find that this fear is making us all behave in different ways to usual.
In a way, these behaviours are helping us to cope better with what’s going on.
This is ok.
Our logical brain which has been trying to non-diet is not happy about what’s going on, but the overwhelm we are all feeling is dominating us and causing old behaviours to surface.
Try not to fight it whilst your not feeling yourself, just acknowledge what is going on for you and do the best you can.
For those of you concerned about your weight issue, just know that if you gain weight it’s not such a bad thing. Getting through this however you can is the important thing.
If you are able to work on incorporating some positive self-care and/or nutrition strategies, this will help you feel good, but if you can’t, no judgement, try to accept where you are at.
