Q: Should I continue to breastfeed my baby if I have COVID-19 or suspect I have COVID-19?

A: The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) have released a statement on COVID-19 in pregnancy. Within this statement, they make the following postpartum and newborn care recommendations: • Women who choose to breastfeed should be allowed to do so after appropriate handwashing and while wearing a mask. It is possible that the mother can transmit antibodies to the infant through breastmilk; however, there is limited evidence of this transmission and the potential benefits are unclear.
• Management in the post-partum period should be guided by a patient-centred discussion about the available evidence and its limitations.
• We do not recommend universal isolation of the infant from either confirmed or suspected infection in the mother. However, depending on a family’s values and availability of resources they may choose to separate infant from mother until isolation precautions for the mother can be formally discontinued.
• Women should practice good handwashing before and use of a mask while engaging in infant care.

Happy Wednesday 🌻☀️ I woke up feeling SO sore from the run I did yesterday I could’ve slept the whole day my body is so tired 😴 I’ve also got a lovely infected eye which is very sore and looks like a tomato🙃 I think I’m going to venture out and do some yoga and stretch my body out a bit to see if that helps! -

Spending the day trying to get some of my PT course done but it’s hard when I feel so tired! Think I’m gonna give my room a good clean to ease my mind a bit too ❣️💖 -

Then we get caught up in guilt and overwhelm, all as a result of us perceiving a negative to be more significant than it actually is

Why is this?

It’s human nature
.
The search for perfectionism, setting unrealistic expectations of ourselves, thinking we’re always emotionally bulletproof
. 
It’s important to accept the things that have gone wrong, so we can understand why it happened and how to work on them
. 
But it’s even more important not to dwell on them for too long, otherwise it clouds your judgement and leads to ruts and regression
.
Direct most of your energy to the positives, then the rest will follow
. 
Take control of your emotions, take control of your mindset, take control of your life

Those were the days where I found myself paying $5 an avocado - because avocados are life.

Avocado toast.
Avocado blender muffins (taste like chocolate).
Guacamole.
Avocado salsa.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are SO many things to do with an avocado - it's the best. I didn't just set out to create new avocado recipes (and some aren't even new, they're just mine 😉). However, I find avocados sliding their way into my meals more and more. The health benefits from avocados are amazing, nevertheless they taste amazing too. But when you put an avocado into a chocolate muffin - you have to be sure you have the right ratio otherwise your muffins taste like garbage. Believe me, I've been there.

The recipes I create take time to try, change, perfect, try again, write up, organize, read (at least 5 times), compile a weeks worth of recipes, and finally send out to the subscribers. Just a little #bts of how it actually goes down over here 🙊

So, for $30 a month - you get 16 recipes , but you get MORE than 16 recipes. You get HOURS of time back that you would spend doing what I have already done for you. 😍Familia, buen día les traigo un Sándwich verde fácil y rápido 🥪 Ingredientes👇🏼 🥙Para la mayonesa verde ✅1/3 taza de hojas de albahaca
✅1/3 taza de cebollas picadas
✅2 dientes de ajo medianos
✅Ralladura y jugo de 1/2 limón
✅1/4 cucharadita de sal
✅1/2 taza de mayonesa 🥗Para las cebollas en escabeche🥗 ✅2 cebollas cortadas en rodajas finas
✅1/2 taza de vinagre de vino blanco
✅2 cucharaditas de azúcar moreno
✅1 cucharadita de sal de mar fina
✅1/4 cucharadita de granos de pimienta negra molidos ligeramente 🥪Para el sándwich🥪 ✅2 rebanadas de pan, ojalá integral
✅1/2 aguacate maduro rebanado
✅2 rebanadas de queso mozzarella
✅1 tomate verde de tamaño mediano rebanado
✅Rodajas finas de pepino
✅Dos hojas de lechuga lavadas y secadas 😋Para preparar la mayonesa verde, en la licuadora combinar todos los ingredientes: la albahaca, la cebolla picada, el ajo, la ralladura y el jugo limón, la sal y la mayonesa. 😋Para escabechar las cebollas, combinar las rodajas de cebolla, el vinagre, el azúcar, la sal y los granos de pimienta. Almacenar en un frasco y dejarlo reposar durante al menos 10 minutos, agitando a ratos para que se mezclen los ingredientes y almacenar en la nevera. 😋Para armar los sándwiches, tostar el pan y aplicar una capa gruesa de mayonesa en uno de los lados de ambos panes. Agregar, en uno de los panes, el aguacate, la mozzarella, el tomate, el pepino, la cebolla en escabeche y las hojas de lechuga. Finalmente, cubrir con la otra rodaja de pan y servir.

Here is my fave upper body BURN that I do once a week! ⠀

When I have a specific weekly workout routine, I always find a way to challenge what I did the week before. That could be adding weight or changing up the reps and sets. Oftentimes, I do pyramid training. And on my heavy days, I will do my max weight and then burn out on my last set by doing HIGH reps with lowwww weight. It burns so nicely 😍⠀
Here is what I do when using a light, 20lb barbell (or 10lb dumbbells)⠀
30x3  Bicep curls⠀
40x3 Individual shoulder presses⠀
20x3 Narrow shoulder press⠀
20x3 Wide shoulder press ⠀
20x3 Bent rows⠀
⠀
⚠️ ⠀
W A R N I N G ⠀
PLEASE note that the amount of sets and reps you do is variant on the amount of weight you are using + your own unique body. ⠀
⠀
F O R M⠀
All these exercises can be done standing. I just chose to sit so I could fit in the camera haha. ⠀
⠀
When doing BICEP CURLS, be sure you aren’t swinging and your arms stay nice and snug against you, really feeling it in your bicep as you control the weight coming up. If you can’t get the weight up without swinging, chances are, you need lower weight. ⠀
⠀
When doing SHOULDER PRESSES, be mindful of isolating the shoulders. Refrain from putting strain on your neck. I press from my chest up. ⠀
⠀
On the BENT ROW try to keep a flat neck and back. Looking down helps. As your bring the weight up, be sure to tighten your upper back for maximum muscle activation. ⠀

If it’s your first time doing an exercise like this, don’t over do it. DM me if you’d like a recommendation for weight, sets, and reps, or bring someone with you who knows what they’re doing.

But there’s something about the harder poses.
I absolutely love them!
They give me something to have to try and try again at.
They give me something that makes me want to challenge myself.
They make me want to learn to remain calm.
They make me want to learn how to focus.
They make me want to learn how to accept the challenge.
All things that are important in life to me.
