I’m learning about my heart. I’m learning that there’s more to racism than I thought there was. I’m learning about privilege and suffering. I’m learning more about how vast Jesus’s love is and how he died for each and every one of us, despite our skin or political stance. I’m learning that it’s okay to not really know what to say and to just take this time to absorb. I wasn’t sure what to say because I didn’t have anything profound or influential, because I’m still figuring everything out. I’m still learning about what’s going on and how I feel and about my own personal experiences. If you’re not sure what to say right now that’s okay, take this time and use all the resources that are being shared right now to learn about what’s going on in the world. Have conversations about it. Because that should come before you try and speak out about what is going on. Educate yourself before you try and educate others.
