Another week, another couple! #plentyofgrooms
and this week it really is worth it to swipe until the last photo!
This Saturday Johnathan (@jakehue
) and I managed to “meet up“ for a 15-minute phone call interview to get to know his and his husband Peter‘s story. Well - 15 turned into 40 minutes and we didn’t hang up saying good bye for at least 3 times.
Johnathan and Peter‘s wedding was a true joint effort and the wedding week was ultra personalized. They chose Johnathan mother‘s house and backyard as their location and Peter being crafty, built two giant golden letters (P+J) for the backyard as a display.
They opted for an elegant garden vibe, and it was so special for them to see how many of their family and friends made it out to Oregon from all over the world. “Our wedding week was filled with different events and activities culminating in the big, and yet intimate outdoor wedding”, Johnathan recounts.
They would do everything all over again just like it happened. But he shares one mishap with me:
During the big day, they totally forgot to sign the wedding certificate, so the marriage was not official. They didn’t notice until two days after the wedding, when almost everybody had departed Oregon. Luckily, one of their dads is a pastor and he was able to spontaneously marry them in the driveway in their casual clothes. It made for an extra intimate and personal moment that nobody had planned.
