REFLECTION | With all that goes on in the world on a daily basis, not to mention the current reality with the impact of Covid-19, millions forget how to live for themselves and others.
And as we reach the halfway point of our nationwide lockdown, it’s important to take some time to reflect.
Self reflection is about taking time to think about your life and your purposes, as well as your place in the world.
It’s about questioning the choice you’ve made, to check now and then that you’re still living true to your own values.
Through this time, it’s important to think about who you are, what’s important to you and what you’re all about. This is the foundation of a resilient mindset.
Reflection gives the brain an opportunity to pause amidst the chaos, untangle and sort through observation’s and experiences, consider multiple possible interpretations, and create meaning. This meaning becomes learning, which can then inform future mindsets and actions.
Through these trying times, it is important that you pay as much attention to appreciation as you do to achievement. Achievement without reflection on what you have and the gratitude for that is worthless.
Pay attention to what you have, and take hold of that. We are in unprecedented times and it’s now that we can truely reflect on what we have and what’s most important in our lives - it’s challenging to navigate these times of chaos, but don’t lose site of the important stuff.
Take some time and look up at the stars, you’d be amazed how much reflection they have.
