When it comes to fitness - what’s your why?
In almost a decade of experience with group classes and personal training sessions, I’ve spoken with hundreds (maybe thousands) of clients at length about their fitness goals. Some popular ones: ❤️ Flat tummy/defined abs
🍑 Bigger butt
💪🏻 Toned arms
Awesome! Valid. Love it. And I’ll do everything within my power to help you get there. But I find that the pursuit of aesthetic goals never seems have as much longevity as falling in love with the way fitness 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙨. Summer will come and go, and with it the desire for the 6-pack. Being functionally strong, able to navigate life, and experience it to it’s fullest is timeless. There is a certain confidence that comes with being able to perform activities like: ✈️ Navigate a crowded subway and airport with a heavy carry-on suitcase (and backpack!) when you’re in a rush to make a flight 🚶🏼♀️ Hike 6 hours round trip to have lunch at a scenic overlook, and still be able to walk the next day 🛏 Move a piece of heavy furniture within your apartment, or from your apartment to the curb, on your own 🍎 Bring a big load of groceries back home from the store, through crowded city sidewalks and up several flights of stairs 💕 My absolute favorite - chase, tickle, tackle, dance with, swim with, and lift some little humans! My nephew is almost 8 and I’m one of his last few remaining family members who is willing to pick him up off the ground 🤗
Aesthetic goals can be the thing that gets you into a new workout routine, but let the 𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚 of being strong and comfortable 𝙒𝙄𝙏𝙃𝙄𝙉 your body (rather than with how it looks) be what keeps you coming back. The best part? When you’re loving how fitness feels, it becomes a must-have sanity saver part of your routine, and the aesthetic goals come a lot more effortlessly ✨
