I thought it would be best to burn my apartment down. .
. "Zero waste, low tox, chem free, no plastics, everything is poison, change your life now, blah blah" - at one point I felt overwhelmed because all of these phrases have been around me everywhere I looked. And I would look at my apartment and thought it would be best to just burn everything and start again, stop my #performerlifestyle
so I can help the planet. 🙈. .
Then I read in an article that if I just stopped using plastic toothbrushes and used bamboo - that could help. 💪🏻 .
So I went back to small steps. Small things. Bamboo toothbrush, my bottle of water instead of buying plastic ones all the time, bar soap instead of liquid one, cloth bags instead of plastic ones, and then came
stuff. Slowly, organically, no pushing, I do what I can. Sometimes I forget, and try not to beat myself up for it. It all seems small, but I believe it helps and actually makes my life easier (except when I forget to empty my bottle before going into the airport, chugging 0,5 l is not nice 😂).
And now I have a low tox toothpaste as well and, besides it not containing chemicals that go to the drain and who knows where, finally my mouth doesn't feel like a desert every morning! 🥳💪🏻 .
Small steps are fine, you don't have to change your whole world upside down just because you decided to start living #lowtox
Do one thing. Try diffusing oils instead of buying a chemical mosquito repellent or take that cloth bag to the store instead of buying more plastic ones.
What's your one step going to be today? 👊🏻 .
