I’ve felt all the feels these past few weeks. I’ve felt nervous. I’ve felt peaceful. I’ve felt proud of myself, and I’ve felt discouraged. I’ve felt energized from a workout, and I’ve felt exhausted from a productive day.
I’ve felt hopeful, and I’ve felt not so hopeful. I’ve felt extremely grateful, and sometimes I’ve had a hard time really FEELING that gratitude. I’ve been grateful that I’m healthy and have food to eat. I’ve also felt annoyed that the grocery store has no more grain free pizza. I’ve then felt embarrassed for being upset about a pizza shortage when people are dying. #justkeepingitreal
I’ve felt proud of all the medical professionals risking their lives. I’ve felt not so proud of myself for getting upset over the little things. I’ve felt like a superwoman after using all the oils, face masks, and eye patches. I’ve also cared less what I looked like as my messy bun started to drop and my day old mascara graced my under eyes.
I’ve felt discouraged that others will always be two steps ahead of me, and I’ve felt empowered about the projects I’m completing.
Someone will already have less than you, and someone will always have more than you, but no one has it as easy as we tend to think.
It’s ok to just admit your feelings. Even the not so sweet ones. It doesn’t justify our shortcomings, but it can humble us. It can remind us that we’re human. You can be broken and beautiful. We’re imperfect beings, we’re simply human. if you’re doing your best that’s ALWAYS good enough. Sometimes our best is all we can do.
To all the single parents, working parents, stay at home parents, preschoolers, high schoolers, college students, teachers, grandparents, newscasters, truck drivers, package deliverers, farmers, essential workers, non-essential workers, and medical professionals Just do the BEST you can do! YES, we need more masks, more tests, a vaccine, and a whole lot more, but it’s ok to just feel all the feels and do the BEST you can. If we all do our BEST we’ll be stronger together.
