On reaching Pondicherry, I was so excited that I simply wanted to go out on the streets and stroll. It was my first trip where me and maa were the only companions. I was eager l, curious and anxious about many situations !
Pondicherry welcomed us pretty warmly, I hope you know what I mean!
It was very humid and hot and after staying so long in Ooty, summers is something I just wasn't used to anymore.
Location: Main Market
Well taking you through what I saw and experienced. Be ready to be spammed.😘

Stairs to heavenly Kedar temple... if you can't make it to Kedarnath, then a dip at this ghat and offering prayers at the temple is considered equally good.

#indianpeafowl
Peafowls, peacocks, peahens, peachicks. They're all peas that have feathers instead of emerging from pods. The terms become confusing when people use them interchangeably. Each term applies to a species of birds in the Phasianidae family. "Peafowl" is the general name for the family of birds.

A peacock is a male peafowl. A peahen is a female peafowl. The young of a peacock and a peahen are called peachicks.
The male peafowl, the peacock, is best known for his head crest and amazing tail called a train. The train with its ocelli, or eyes, comes into its full splendor when the peacock is about 2 years old. With a wingspan of nearly 5 feet and a train just as long, the male peafowl is "one of the largest flying birds in the world," according to the Smithsonian's National Zoological Park.

Peahens, female peafowl, are mostly brown with a white belly, a green neck and the same type of head crest. Peafowl are polygamus. The peahen mates, then goes off to lay eggs and raise her offspring alone. Peachicks are precocial -- covered in down and with open eyes -- at hatching. They can leave the nest in about two days. Research has shown that peahens who mate with elaborately tailed peacocks produce more male offspring.

Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple! Wow, I have so much to say about this beautiful temple ! But first of all, you 'll have to know that to enter, you need to follow officialy the hindu religion, as so, I couldn't enter in it, but I wasn't sad, let me explain you why, see, this temple is following a beautiful tradition, man and woman need to be dressed up to get to the temple, dothy & sari. Not being able to enter offered me an other perspective of it and got me dreaming even more about all the tales I read. I sat there and watched, by the end of the day, the beauty of the dance of so many devotees coming and going in traditionnal clothes, it was just magical for my eyes and my soul. Also, you have to know that this temple have a LOT of amazing stories and tales ! This magnificent golden temple is one of the most famous in India. It is said that one of the biggest treasury is still sealed behind two massive doors protected by the snakes on it ! Magical... I told you! But thats not all ,The temple was originally built in 6th century A.D., and later beautified further by the Kings of Travancore after 10 centuries.
Way back in 2011, a retired officer filed a petition in the Supreme Court for taking stock of the temple unknown treasury.
six huge secret Kallaras or vaults were discovered in the temple which were named A, B, C, D, E and F.
The portals of Vault B remained locked despite all efforts made by the committee to open it. Of all the six vaults, the Bharatakkon Kallara or Chamber B is believed to be deeply rooted to God Padmanabhaswamy. What makes the chamber B impenetrable? Ages ago, the sages of high stature had locked the portals with Naga Paasam mantras (serpent noose) during the reign of King Marthanda Varma and it is said that only a sage or saint of high calibre is capable of removing the Naga Paasam by chanting Garuda mantra in a proper way.
These tales make my journey in India, magical 🧡 #iloveindia #incredibleindia

The word Hemkund means “Lake of Snow”. It is popularly known as “Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib”. Situated at an elevation of 4633 meters above the sea level in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, Hemkund Sahib is the highest Gurudwara of Sikh community. Hemkund Sahib is situated 6 kilometers from Ghangharia which is mostly the base camp for all the trekkers. It might sound less but the steepness made it longer and longer. As I moved up, every turn unfolded a different scenic surprise and I was awestruck to another level. From numerous unknown waterfalls, to the dense forest, to the snow clad Himalayas to the every possible shade of green, it was nature on a platter for me.

What an incredible secretly hidden gem this beautiful place was !!!
🌏
Located in the busy city of DELI! 🧭
The journey to this place was like any other, crazy busy roads, packed into a took took with no doors, beeping loudly at eachother instead of indicators, some cows chilling on the road to keep it a bit more exciting as we dodge everything like a school of fish flowing trustingly to our destination. 🐟
All of a sudden, turn down a side street, pull up, get out, graffiti on the brick walls painting a story of the lives around the area then it happened... all of a sudden....
😳....
We walk up the stairs, tree roots paving the way for us between the hot red bricks underneath our feet. There it is.
🧱
 A small open door way.
As we enter through the door way we are welcomed to this magical place, so much history that it sets you back in time the moment you step into it.
⏰
Agrasen ki Baoli is an architectural gem hidden among the skyscrapers of Delhi, India. 🏯
An ancient step-well (108 steps) used to conserve water.
💧
So they dont know the exact date this was built as there are no known historical records to prove who built it but it is believed that it was originally built by king Agrasen and rebuilt in the 14th century 👑
The unique thing about this place is its hidden in a crazy busy city. When you come out of busy life, the year is 2019, drive unknowingly where your going, through to the back streets of Deli this place creates an amazing step back in time expereince. It's really serene to be apart of.

By the no parking sign the easy street vendors display of coconuts &  peanuts (as a reference to chocolate ) on the windows of these hotels are consistent with an obscured subterranean  plan of what is really a hidden corridor for the passengers. The underground tunneling has continued in many  places for many years and most of them have been under one of two constrictions : by constructional design or construction carried out by underground engineers.
In case you are a tourist  you can get your bearings during a trip there, and see for yourself. For the sake of completeness we will use the map of Guernica (1875) and its sub-subways  that connect to the other  sub-subways of the city.

Chhau Mask dance is the traditional cultural heritage of Purulia , West Bengal. Various episodes from epics were taken during the mask dance performance. Apart from the dance performance, the Chaau mask itself is fascinating and decorative. It is made with mud, paper and clay. जिंदगी भी एक रेलयात्रा है,
यहां किसी की सीट आरक्षित रहती है
तो किसी को खड़े ही सफ़र करना पड़ता है
लेकिन सबकी मंज़िल एक ही है।.

We were at Naad Wellness last week, only 2 hours away from Delhi and what makes it so wonderful is that staying here is like being cocooned in serenity😇. It is not only the many therapies offered that help heal you but even the little nooks and crannies exude peace - the yoga studio where we cleanse our body of negative energy and bask in the vibrations of our collective chants or the little fountains outside whose gushing seems to awash a sense of calm over us.
.
We can't wait to visit again, any joiners?😍

Beheaded God and stone carvings, oh the stories floating in the air!

Chappan Mahal in Mandu is a gorgeous relic of the past hosting artefacts older still.
I stumbled upon it on a chance bicycle ride across the little town of forgotten breaths and stories stranger still ❤️ #Mandu #natgeoyourshot #NGTDailyShot #lonelyplanet

Single decker root bridge, Shillong, Meghalaya.
#Living RootBridges in Meghalaya are recognized by #UNESCO as a #WorldHeritageSites .

There are bridges around the world that are known to be human’s finest creations! But the natural marvel of Living Root Bridges in Meghalaya is #mindblowing. These #wonderful #structures have meticulously grown over a period of time and are among the #biggest #attractions in Meghalaya.

The ever evolving Meghalaya bridges are made up of #tangled thick #roots that provide formidability to the structure and make it good enough to hold 50 or more people in one go. They are grown by trained #Khasi and #Jaintia #tribes who have mastered the art of growing root bridges across raised banks of streams running through the dense woods of Meghalaya.

The Living Root Bridges are made from rubber tree roots also known as Ficus elastica tree.
Some of the root bridges are over 100 feet long and take 10 to 15 years to attain the perfect shape.
Once fully grown, these roots last for as long as 500 years.
While some of the roots decay because of their continuous association of water, others grow and make up for the decayed, thus providing the required stability to the bridge.

Of all the Living Root Bridges in Meghalaya, the double-decker root bridge in #Cherrapunji and the single-decker root bridge in #Shillong are the unique bridges in the world and make for prime attraction in the #northeastindia . .
