Waiting for summer classes to start is a pain but also somewhat nice, most of the past little while’s been a personal break just to mentally catch up and slow down. Stopping to smell the roses and whatever :) most of my digital work has been small commissions and practice sketches, but I finally finished a design. It’s hard to not get into a rut when you have nothing but time between your plans, your productivity feels directly responsible for your happiness, but you should still learn to shut the fuck up and just live in a moment. As much as I love being an artist, student, etc, it was nice to just to exist as jen for a bit

This is something a bit different but very special. One of my best friends is turning 24 tomorrow, so this is just an early present that I’m so glad she loved. I really hope you have the best day with your family and beautiful little boy @jodiejohn_s. I can’t wait to see you all when it’s safe to do so.
These portraits are not currently available for commissions due to time they take to complete. However, this may change in the future. Thank you!
#monsterhigh#originalcharacter#digitalart This is my OC for monster high! Her name is JuJu and she’s a Voodoo doll. After rewatching Monster High I gotta say, what happened to it?! The remake is horrible and doesn’t have its interesting character as well as fashion design. If you were a little kid that loved that show like me, it really brings back the nostalgia. More of her to come❤️
26 MAY. NATIONAL SORRY DAY
Today, alongside every other day is a day to reflect and pay respect to the members of the Stolen Generations. It is because of their resilience, strength and perseverance that our culture and people are still here today. The ongoing impacts of this attempt of genocide is still extremely prevalent in our communities today, which is why it is important that we as Aboriginal people HEAL.
The native hibiscus (as pictured in the above artwork) was chosen to symbolise the Stolen Generations and their resilience. The flower is found widely across Australia and is extremely durable no matter what conditions are put in its way. The colour purple represents passion and spiritual healing. 💜
Thanks to my mumma @merindah73 for the knowledge behind the native hibiscus & inspo for the art 💜💜
