Murtabak: Similar to our baida roti (Indian egg rolls) 🍜Do you guys make a LIST of things to EAT when planning a trip? I do that and then promptly forget about it because 1) I’m not a checklist kinda girl when I travel 2) When you are in the real place you get so much local info it beats your online info 10 to 1 anyway... So do you plan your food? I have to admit I love to research and anticipate, because there is just sooo much to try !🍜🍜Murtabak was not on the list, because it is Indian food and how uncool is that😉 but just before leaving Malaysia my friend said try it and it stayed in my head. Then when we found ourselves between the Indian &Arab areas of Singapore right next to the best Murtabak place @ZamZam
it was a sign! 🍜🍜🍜If your a fan of Baida Roti (I am) this was similar but stuffed to capacity with chicken mince, shredded chicken onions and fried both crispy and soft. The restaurant offers chicken, mutton, beef and even venison versions. 🍜🍜🍜🍜A heritage restaurant, it’s been around since 1908, it gives you a comfortable feeling like you were sitting in #mohammedAliRoad
in Mumbai. The food was finger licking good and an ode to both Indian and Arabic cuisine. Truly showcasing Singapore’s #multiculturalism
. Definitely worth a visit. Pro tip: The curry that accompanied it is so yummy and the milk tea tastes just like Indian tea... so go here if your homesick. Dad had a cold and lovvved having it!
