I hadn’t planned to sell any more of my artwork, but when the lads at @creative_differences_market asked if I’d like to take part in an exhibition, I surprised myself by saying yes.
The pieces I’ve created for this show are some of my favourite to date, and I can’t wait to exhibit them alongside all the other incredible artists involved.
Here’s one of my favourites that I secretly hope doesn’t sell so I can keep it in my bedroom ☀️ 🌊
A look at my process... since arriving in Hawaii I have been working on the floor. I can’t feel my butt anymore 😂 but I have been diving in with no fear and have been learning so much. I brought with me some of my paper and all of my markers, crayons, colored pencils, and paint. I have been using these materials for the past two years in my doodles, but haven’t been serious about introducing it all into my work until very recently. I’m still figuring out exactly how I want to do that so these 15 minute exercises have been great! I have been allowing myself to play around enough to do just that and I think I am almost there. I have been keeping notes about what I love and what I could have done differently. It has also been helpful to jot down what techniques I made up to get there and what colors I used to achieve a certain look. I have been creative since I can remember, but I am entirely self taught. I never went to art school because I thought it was better to get a practical degree... I have yet to use my BS degree, but I approach art the same way I learned how to think, like a scientist and it has helped me a lot (go figure!) in achieving my goals as an illustrator. Anyway, I thought I would give a background peek at my thought process for once. #paperplay

Aunque ese “yo” no exista.// We feed only our navel without really being aware that those navels are slowly turning into infertility. Where the children of the future fade under fiery temperatures.
For some time we have been warned of a no future, of an apocalypse where his four knights are the human being, his money, interest and hypocrisy. Maybe the bible was not so wrong after all. Maybe we do not even have time to react when there is nothing to do but, well, it would be simple after all. Take responsibility for the action to the "I" of the future. Although that "I" does not exist.
I added a bunch of new vintage ephemera packs to my Etsy shop! These are so much fun for junk journaling!! 📚🖋

For @pariscollagecollective week 29 and @xuxoe 'water' week 🌊
“Everything on the earth bristled, the bramble
pricked and the green thread
nibbled away, the petal fell, falling
until the only flower was the falling itself.
Water is another matter,
has no direction but its own bright grace,
runs through all imaginable colours,
takes limpid lessons
and in those functionings plays out
the unrealised ambitions of the foam.” – Pablo Neruda
Featuring a combination of handcrafted elements with beautiful free-to-use collage materials from around the world on @unsplash (mountain image by Silvan Schuppisser @theverticalstory; “Life is Beautiful” neon sign image by Katarzyna Grabowska @kalljett) with the amazing “The Bronze Buddha at Kamakura” by Japanese artist Kazumasa Ogawa. Bakuarista transformed a print of my collage into an beautiful abstract painting and Stephi
Lamont wrote a poetic text about it!
It was so great and weird to see and realize that art is an post individual process that could pass borders easily.
Her brain had moored in another reality at the confines of a neurotic galaxy. Curious ideas continually hollowed out her imagination. She embroidered her vaporous thoughts on rags of discourse burst. Her truth was a nebulous incoherence.
The poor thing was aware of the irregularity of her psyche. Although she spared no efforts to hide her anomaly, her eyes still seemed to be elsewhere.
Little was known of her except for the madness that overwhelmed her.

No? E come? Nuota o cammina? Ah, nuota. Canta pure. Uccide? No. E beh, non ci siamo proprio. Come perché? Perché quelle vere volano. Eccola, eccola una sirena. Io me ne intendo, ne ho viste decine. No, sirene mai... dovevo diventar scienziato per disegnarne qualcuna.
