PRO TIP: When looking at ingredient lists, the ingredients are listed in order from highest to lowest concentration. The ingredients with the highest concentration are going to be at the beginning of the list, and the ingredients with lowest are going to be near the bottom!
Sometimes, brands will throw in v small concentrations of the ingredients you *think* you're getting just so they can say it's in there. Just something to keep in mind when you're looking at skincare products!
-- The biggest game changer in my routine has been adding an essence, a serum, and an oil nightly. Over the past two years since I started this page, I have learned so, so much from my peers about skincare -- much more than I think I ever could've learned from YouTube. Ya'll the real MVPs out here.
At first, I was hesitant to add an oil because I have naturally oily skin BUTTTT after adding hydrating elements to my routine, it turns out my skin was really dehydrated and after adding these steps into my skincare routine, my skin is less oily than before???? like what????? G A M E C H A N G E R.
When your skin isn't getting the moisturization it needs, oil production can go into overdrive and actually make you more oily. My skincare routine now consists of:
Step 1: Toner
Step 2: Essence
Step 3: Hydrating Serum
Step 4: Retinoid OR AHA/BHA serum
Step 5: Oil
Step 6: Sleeping Mask or Heavy Moisturizer to seal it all in
I wake up with plump skin and a make-up ready base in the morning now. The better prepped my skin is, the better my makeup looks that day.
SHOUTOUT TO MY SKINCARE IG FRIENDS CAUSE YA'LL HAVE CHANGED MY LIFEEEEEEEE.
