This is us...quite literally how I travel with her most of the time. I think this works for the both of us currently as she still uses the stroller and I have that as my constant support🤣..(to hold my knick knacks, to take care of baby when she wants to lie down or refuses to walk, when we both dont want to look at each others faces after a whole day of travel and just hit the bed, our stroller is our beloved partner and agony aunt...! .
I think its important to test oneself in each phase of your life. Backpacking with my baby by myself was a challenge but I got through it...and i think Ive tasted what it feels like !!
Stroller you’re here to stay, not to mention baby A, you too! .
.
P.s. A lot of people ask me what I do when I have to use the washroom and the answer is I almost always take her along and hand her to the staff or passengers inside the washroom for a minute and/or she is trained to wait right outside my door while we have the most profound mom-daughter conversation ever!! I never let her out of sight (within 360 view) when its just us travelling esp because she is too young right now. Ive kind of developed hawk eye vision and can spot coffee machines and toilets in a circumference around us within 10 secs🤣...This will definitely change once she grows up and can wait by herself. .

I think we can safely say that the Game of Thrones finale was awful. But visiting King’s Landing last summer? That was pretty awesome! 😉

Hello foie gras crumble, you might be one of the best things I ate this month! Served up with buttery toast, this was hands down our favorite dish at the Seagrill Bistro brunch last weekend.

My favorite place here in Pasadena, @TheHuntingtonLibrary and I love visiting here in May when most of the flowers are blooming.

Just one man and his bicycle, yet another perfect moment in @dubai 💫
_
We took this AMAZING snap down at the #DubaiCreek 👍🏼 we’d never been before & this year we made it our New Years resolution to get out and see more of Dubai (instead of spending it locked away inside at brunch!) _
We’re SOOOO glad we did because we’ve discovered so many hidden beauty’s (like this one) that many people overlook ✨

Traveling again. This time it’s with @CathayPacific it’s our first time using this airline and I’m impressed. The service is amazing. We flew from Dubai to Hongkong and a seven hour layover then a twelve hour flight to Los Angeles.

Love the beds at Edition hotels! They’re reasonably firm, which I don’t usually like, but still somehow comfy and plush - we always have a fab nights sleep there. The sheets are gorgeous and we love how all the rooms have a fur throw for chilly UK evenings. You’ve heard me rave about their robes so so many times before (I own one myself and wear it every day when I’m home) and I’m glad to see that you can take one home with you from their London outpost for £65...(sadly they’ve gone up in price a lot at @abudhabiedition recently after I purchased mine). Truly a hotel that ticks all the boxes. Have you stayed at an Edition Hotel?

How better to enjoy an unexpected stay in London that at the über chic new @londonedition? @editionhotels have speedily become one of my favourite brands - trust me, you want to stay in their hotels. Everything they do is the epitome of quality...including their breakfast! They serve hands down some of the best croissants I’ve ever tasted and their waffles with yoghurt and berries were also superb. Always impressed when room service actually delivers the goods. 👌😎🥐🥞🥓☕️ What’s your fave spot for breakfast in London?🇬🇧

The iconic Sagrada Familia is one of the most revered and unfinished works by Antoni Gaudi. Gaudi, born in 1852 was a pioneering proponent of modernism and modernist style of architecture in his time and his creations have been declared UNESCO world heritage sites along with other works in Catalonia, titled “works of Antoni Gaudi.”
.
.

Born in the city of Reus, he wasnt the first architect to have worked on this Expiatory Temple of the Holy Family (aka Sagrada Familia). He began work on it at the prime age of 31 and devoted the last years of his life on constructing this iconic Catholic Church. .
.
One needs to just stand in front of it to be mesmerised by its sheer scale and uniqueness. I do not think I have seen anything like this in my life. .(Instastories for pics)
Gaudi used scaling techniques to construct the various shapes and forms, each unique and replete with religious symbolism. .

A trip to Barcelona is not complete without visiting the ‘works of Gaudi’ and we were fortunate to have been able to visit this Church along with Casa Mila(La Pedrera) and Park Guell. .
To get there by public transport, you will have to take the L5 metro line from Barcelona Sants station which directly takes you to this location. Alternatively, you can take the H10 bus or the Blue line on the HOHO(hop on hop off) tours to take you to this stop. .
It is best to buy ‘skip the line’ tickets online (€25 with audio guide and €17 for a basic entry ticket). It costs more to climb up to the towers on the Nativity facade or the Passion Facade. However, I could not go up as kids under 6 are not allowed as there are approx. 600 stairs you must climb down! .
There is a separate entry for kids in strollers and families or groups so be patient and wait for your turn as the wait times are not long if you book online.
.
Step inside and lose yourself exploring the interiors, historic towers, the nativity facade, the passion facade and the glory facade. If you can, you MUST go up the Nativity facade and explore it up close and also get a birds eye view of Barcelona! .
The Sagrada Familia(now a Basilica) will finally complete in 2026!

“May I take a picture of you?” It took me a long time to be able to muster the courage to ask this of strangers in foreign places, motioning to my camera and to them with a smile, when they don’t speak English. But the chance of rejection is a small price to pay for a photograph of a person who wants to be photographed- so so vastly different from someone who feels like their privacy is being invaded or like an animal in a zoo.

In our times, when the obsession for a perfect photo is reaching new heights, let us, as travellers, as visitors and as guests, not forget that the privilege of travel does not grant us rights to the invasion of privacy of locals in their home, to make them uncomfortable or disrespect them.
Want to know how to travel better? Its not about knowing travel hacks, finding the best deals, traveling more or faster or far. Step 1 of traveling better is to just be a decent human being, polite and respectful and humble towards locals so that they come away with positive perceptions of tourists, of outsiders, of others and of travel, in general.

Next time, you’re tempted to point your lens in a stranger’s face, just ask, okay? You’ll be surprised. 😀

The World is not perfect! Everytime I read or watch the news about a terror attack in which innocent people lose their lives, it breaks my heart. To see young kids suffer, get hurt, or get torn apart from their families for no fault of theirs is devastating and unfathomable to me! .
.
While it gets me all shaken up, it doesn’t shatter my belief in all things beautiful about the World. Where there is 1% bad, there is 99% good in all places and people. We just need to believe this. .
.
Will it stop me from travelling with my child because places and people might be unsafe ? A big NO! Dont believe things at face value and especially what you read and watch in the media everyday! Go out there and make your own judgement about a place or its people. .
.
I had read and heard a lot of stories about pickpocketing in Barcelona, petty theft etc. While I cannot guarantee that it wont happen or doesn’t happen there, it didn’t happen to me.
Trust your instincts the most, especially while travelling alone...and just pray that the 99% becomes a reason for you to believe that even though the World isn’t perfect, its beautiful! .

Today il let you into my life a little more....
.
.
I wasn’t always this outgoing, confident, outdoorsy, fearless adventurous woman... .
.
I had a very sheltered upbringing that was and still is held together by two very loving parents and an older brother. Ive always been the baby girl of the family and I guess i still am. It took me a long time to know myself for who I really am, muster enough confidence to take a solo bus ride, leave alone a solo backpacking trip but everytime I ventured out I discovered a little more about myself. I knew all the fear was within me and I just had to take that first step! .
.
I guess I learnt from what life handed me, good and bad and I learnt never to accept anything at face value. The most important thing I learnt was: you will never know until you try it for the first time! .
.
...and so i tried! I kept travelling until I loved it enough to risk taking my baby along with me. .
There is no guidebook in the World that teaches you how to travel with a child. You have to figure it out until you know you love it enough to do it one more time. Now I know this is meant for me. Until I can, i will not give up travelling with her. On buses and trains, in hostel beds and mountaintops, in places where I have to use an app to say hello, in situations where I must think on the go and take the most practical decision for the child, in comfort and discomfort, in managing both our luggage in that single backpack, in google maps and pushing prams until I find my way... I shall continue our travel story! .
.
All im saying is: You will never know until you try it FOR THE FIRST TIME!! .

If there’s one word I’d use to describe the architecture in Muscat, it would be ‘serene’. Just edited all my photos from Muscat and ready to share my shots from my weekend trip last month. Seriously, how beautiful is the Royal Opera House?
By the way, if you’re still looking for a weekend getaway close to Dubai for the upcoming long weekend in June, then you should totally check out my latest post on a fun, family-friendly resort in Muscat, link is in my bio.

Doing my best Saturday Night Fever impression (by accident) at altitude in the beautiful Himalayas in Himachal Pradesh, India. Summing up the incredible feeling of breathing in clean air, drinking crystal clear mountain water, pushing myself physically every day with even more spectacular views as a reward, under vast deep blue skies with magnificent vultures soaring overhead. Eating delicious, simple vegetarian food, being guided by wise, generous people and laughing until my sides ached. ⠀
.⠀
My blog is my passion but I earn my living from creating online content and community management for other people. This was the first time in years - too long to remember how many - that I genuinely disconnected from everything for more than a day. Thanks to @atomdxb for holding the fort so I could relax completely. .⠀
It was liberating and since being back I’ve tip-toed my way in again. Torn between keeping my headspace free and wanting to holler about this trip from ... well, the top of a huge rock!⠀
.⠀ I value the friendship of this community so it is good to be back and thanks to everyone who has asked for more info. It’s coming very soon. ⠀
. ⠀
Breathing in lungfuls of fresh air or listening to your favourite song....What makes you feel ‘ah ah ah ah stayin’ alive’? ⠀

Sometimes we live in the moment, other times it’s enough to relive the moments in our minds. 😌

Yes, sometimes the world looks like a painting, and you're reminded that if you didn't go, you wouldn't get to see even a fraction of its unimaginable beauty.
I was blown away by the beauty of the countryside in Azerbaijan- this was a random stop (for a bathroom break and quick cup of tea) on our roadtrip to Qabala. Even after days of road tripping, I couldn't get myself to sleep for a minute- I could not risk missing gorgeous meadows, rolling hills and winding roads between rugged mountains!
If you haven't thought of visiting Azerbaijan yet, you need to change that. 😉

Even after days of road tripping, I couldn't get myself to sleep for a minute- I could not risk missing gorgeous meadows, rolling hills and winding roads between rugged mountains! If you haven't thought of visiting Azerbaijan yet, you need to change that. 😉 #takeanotherlook #beautifulmatters #experienceazerbaijan

It doesn't matter how much I travel, or how far- I will always be an introvert, and shy, and so, hesitant to break the ice when I'm in a new place.
The one tip I've found always works- smile, even when you're self conscious, even when you're not sure they'll smile back. Most often, they will. You'd be surprised to know how underrated this tip is for tourists- smile more, and greet the locals.

Luckily, I didn't need to worry in Lahic, a village of craftspeople in rural Azerbaijan, who were only very welcoming and friendly to outsiders like me. What is it about the people in the mountains that makes them so warm?
They proudly showed off their crafts and creations, and smiled modestly when I said how beautiful. They asked me where I'd come from and wished me well. Some blessed me with happiness and good luck.
They didn't speak any English, but when have language barriers stopped humans from communicating? With and without translation, we understood each other well enough.
I almost didn't enter his little shop with ornate windows. But just as I peeked in, he put down the tools he was working with, glanced at me and beamed. Like as if I were someone he'd been waiting to see all morning. The elderly gentleman lifted one hand slightly and a crooked smile began to play upon his lips.

How could I not go in? I didn't buy much here, but that didn't matter. Human connections aren't about that, and we tend to take them for granted in everyday city life. We're too busy trying to live our lives in the screens of our smartphones to look up and smile at strangers. But not the people in the mountains.

And so I travel, my friends, to remind myself and to share with you that there are so many ways of life, and so many kinds of people, and so many rich human experiences to be had, when we venture into what at first may seem out of our comfort zone, but in the end, is so worth it.

Taking time out to explore the #GrandMosque in #AbuDhabi really blew our minds. Filled with religion, beauty, bliss & history it was definitely one of the most cultural things we have done during our time in the UAE ✨

There is a lot to do in Dubai if you are travelling with your child. You have to choose what kind of activities you wish to indulge in and how many days you have in hand. Since we were on a transit e-visa (can be applied online a month before departure and is valid for 96 hours) on our way to Spain, we picked out what we wanted to see in the short time we had. One of these was visiting the Dubai Aquarium which is located inside the Dubai Mall.
We also visited the Underwater Zoo since Ari is such a huge animal lover and wanted to be surrounded by aquatic life and animals most of the time...
All of these are in the same complex right next to the iconic Burj Khalifa so you can finish everything in a single day if you head out early.
You can prebook combo tickets like we did which combined the Burj Khalifa visit with the Dubai Aquarium for approx 11,000 INR for the three of us.
TIP: head out as early as possible and finish Burj Khalifa in the morning slot itself (if you can afford to skip those golden hour Instagram shots that people queue up for early evening) and then spend the rest of the day exploring the Aquarium, Underwater Zoo and the Dubai Mall.
The Aquarium is a great experience and reminds you of the ones in Singapore and other South East Asian countries.. Baby A did not want to leave these two areas and we spent around 4 hours inside. (CHECK MY INSTASTORIES FOR PICS OF WHAT WE SAW INSIDE)
We carried a stroller along in which she took a long nap right after and we strolled around Dubai Mall comfortably! .

When I look back at life, I am grateful for the thousands of tiny little decisions, good, bad, and the rest-we'll find out, that have brought me to moments like this.

Here, at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ateshgah close to Baku, looking at the flames of a fire that once burned naturally fueled by natural gas vents below the earth, I had the chance to learn about this 17th century temple complex where Zoroastrians and Hindus once worshipped and found refuge on their long journeys across the region. Hinduism in Azerbaijan?
We might think that cultures and religions remain within geographical boundaries, when in fact they travel with people, who since the beginning of time have had trouble with sitting still.
Human curiosity knows no bounds and the need to explore, to see what else is out there is perhaps as ancient as our very origins.
Whether or not we knew it then, we've been leaving parts of our cultures and influences, sprinkling them like spices around the world, and absorbing new influences from the people and places we visit, since the beginning of time.

Culture is fluid, my friends. Your culture isn't entirely your own, and you don't even know where it comes from a 100%. Who knows, maybe someday we will finally understand that we are not as different as we think we are.

I’m supposed to be having a little internet detox, along with my yoga retreat and hiking, in the Indian Himalayas. ⠀
.⠀
There are so many wonderful moments I’d like to share with you so I’ve sneaked down to the kitchen early morning and I’m sitting here with a cup of tea. ⠀
.⠀
Children are playing in the street and the early morning sunshine is making the leaves glow and the snow on distant mountains sparkle. In a few days my boots will be trudging through it.⠀
.⠀
But for now I’m enjoying meeting the lovely people who live in this part of India. Their warmth and kindness, while they work so hard on the land, has made this trip really special. ⠀
.⠀
We caught the local bus to Manali this week, in torrential rain, which was a mini adventure. Now off up a mountain for 4 days with no Internet See you soon... ish 😊 ⠀

Главу "burn them all" я пока закрыла.

In this post, Im going to address what kind of flight to choose when travelling long distance with kids...
From my previous experience of flying with my baby, I have both good and bad memories of our flights together. These insights actually led me to choose a flight that suited our needs, was not overly priced and one where she actually enjoyed the flying experience. Here are my top tips for picking the right kind of flight while travelling with kids: 🛫Do your research atleast two to three months in advance if you are taking an overseas flight with double digit flying hours. Track your flight preferences using a flight tracking service like skyscanner or google flight matrix or simply google search. Keep options open and be flexible with dates initially. .
🛫Always create an account in your flight portals to earn flyer miles every time you fly which can get you free flights, upgrades and a lot more later. .
🛫Check if you have any offers clubbed with any airlines on your credit card(could be a regular or travel credit card like AMEX). We made use of the offer on @emirates airlines with @sbicard_connect and this helped us make our final choice. .
🛫See if you can break the long haul journey into two parts. Since we were flying to Spain, we decided to stopover at Dubai since Emirates had a stopover and we could easily secure a transit e visa which was cheaper and valid for a few days. This helped us relax and made Baby A acclimatise and also gave us an opportunity to explore another country Dubai that we hadnt visited earlier. .
🛫Check departure and arrival timings. With @emirates the timings worked out superbly as we flew during normal day hours and since the time difference was split in parts, we hardly suffered any jet lag. We were ready to explore Dubai and Spain the minute we landed as we were fresh and excited from only a few hours of travel( read single digit). .
🛫Check out the website of the airline in advance and see if they have any special treats for the kids on board and their child meals. This ensured we didnt carry too many toys for her since she kept getting them on every flight we took. .

Say hello to the most deliciously comfortable bed you’ve ever slept in. Somehow, they’ve managed to get it just how YOU like it. Sounds too good to be true? It’s not, for two reasons. Firstly, it’s at @fourseasons and let’s face it, they know how to do luxury. Secondly, they don’t assume what you want, but let you choose. Sure, you can choose your pillow (everything from buckwheat to stone...yes, stone!) but the real stand out here is letting you choose your mattress. Choose from plush (hello, me), Signature, firm or extra firm and create your dream suite for the sweetest of dreams! For this reason, @fshongkong is currently my favourite hotel bed in the world. And I’ve slept in a lot. 😴😴😴 Firm or soft - which would you choose? 😍🤩
