It would have been easy to justify not going out tonight. There’s so much to do still for Yom Tov, and tomorrow is yet another erev something. I could have told myself that the responsible thing to do would be to stay home and do what work I could tonight. But after a month full of a lot of physical work for the many many holidays, I needed to recharge my spiritual batteries, to gather with other women who also wanted to connect and recharge and tap into the power of Hoshana Raba (that’s right now). So I packed up my clarinet and headed over to my friend Chana’s sukkah and listened to some Torah, played some music and now feel ready to tackle the work I need to do with a better attitude. Woot woot!
